That's only 95 points, mate. I'd upgrade to a stronger missile, since you can afford it.
I'd also swap out the Shield Upgrade for an Engine Upgrade, or drop them in favor of a 6th Headhunter + Missile.
Oh, well scrap the Ion Pulse then! Concussion it is.
I'd say change shield upgrade to hull upgrade. That way half your squad doesn't get dropped by a few well placed proton bombs, which I think will start to see some more play after this wave drops.
Problem with this build is you have a pretty good alpha strike but after that you have 5 ships not quite as good as xwings. I think finding a mixture of Zs and Xs may be a better build so that you have some firepower after the alpha strike. Something like two rookie xwings and three Zs with concussion and hull upgrade. I'm doing math in my head but I think that is 99 points. Same number of ships, same PS same hull, same shields, But a little less alpha damage and more firepower after the alpha
Yes, that would be 99, and you certainly raise a good point about Proton Bombs and that the squad will be weak after the alpha strike. I don't deny that in the least. That said, I like the Z-95 quite a lot right now, even if the ship itself is somewhat underwhelming, which in of itself is actually just fine with me. The Rebellion already possesses such a strong variety of ships, so having this "swarmer", or rather, a niche filling, ship as an option is exactly what the doctor ordered for their side. Conversely, we have powerful and expensive ships that are getting fielded for the Imperials, so I feel there's going to be a lot of evolution for this game, and it's going to be just awesome.
You should just about NEVER buy shield or hull upgrades for a PS2 or PS4 Z95. It's already dirt cheap for 2 hull and 2 shields.
Two hull and 2 shields, as upgrades, cost 14 points. THAT'S MORE THAN THE SHIP ITSELF COSTS!
For the 20 points you are spending on getting 5 more shields, you might as well spend 12 of it on a new ship (4 hit points) and have 8 points left over.
I'm thinking more of putting stealth device on those guys to give them 3 evade dice, it'll be 15pts for 2-3-2-2 (until hit), it'll be interesting.
personally I wouldn't put SD on a 2 agility ship.. you'll lose it fast, and it's a waste of points..

You don't need to shout. Also, you're pulling out all the fun of this build. The point of it was to have a squad that would have some relative survivability and a rather nasty alpha strike while still giving the force 5 ships. We haven't seen something like this before, we haven't had a chance with the high cost of most Rebel ships and trying to make them effective as a cohesive force. Of course it's not perfect, and I've yet to test it, but I liked it from a purely conceptual standpoint. If I can't have some fun talking about this GAME once in a while then what's the point?
Actually, let's look at squad building from your mentality: "okay, so instead of giving 4 Scimitar Squadron Pilots a Concussion Missile each and a Proton Bomb, take off all the weapons and just put out two more bombers and upgrade a couple of them to Gamma Squadron."
I'm not here to play Math Wing. Thanks for your viewpoint, but I don't share it.
Sorry, I didn't mean to shout to be obnoxious, but rather to point out the absurdity of the situation. The z-95 is a great craft, to say the least. I was thinking that 7 Z-95's, with 4 of them having a Concussion Missile would be an interesting squad too.
Edited by MajorJugglerSo lose the shields and a missile and field 2 more craft. I like your angle quite a bit, but it would require me to buy 7 of these things. I like it in theory, I don't like it on my wallet. XD
Instead, for the 24 points we'll put out a Red Squadron Pilot with an R2 Astromech, just to have a squad leader and be more budget conscious.
Edited by LeoHowlerI kinda like the idea of flying 5 weaker X-wings with an alpha of missiles. 5x Bandit with Hull Upgrade and Assault Missiles makes for an even 100, and is immune to the 1-hit KO potential of the proton bombs, while also wrecking it's worst possible enemy(TIE Swarms) with the assault missile barrage. Alternatively you could drop the missiles down to ion or flechette and upgrade the bandits to their next highest PS (I'm sure PS4 will be just 2 points more, as always for rebels)
