Foundation flipping

if lynette's keeps copying it after it's face down, you have to be able to look at it, otherwise there is no way to resolve disputes when neither player can agree on what the exact text of the face down card is.

Face Down cards in the staging area yes.

Face-Down attached cards, not so much. <There is a difference between the two>

This comes after conferring with James, is also ruled as such to avoid X card monty situations.

Not having working computer for days suuuucks.

So, in summation:

1. They have no values whatsoever.

2, Yes, Blinding Rage can search for the actual foundation destroyed.

3. Yes, they can be looked at. (persnal amusement that I got the first "okay, we gotta ask James" ruling of set 12)

4. Lynette's still copies it.

Right?

That seems to be what I'm reading, though it does not resolve all issues.

If it ceases to be the card it was, for all game purposes, how can the card it was still be considered "in play"? And if the card it was is no longer "in play," shouldn't Lynette's stop being a copy and become just an asset?

The targetting issue Proto mentioned is particularly important.

Can I target these foundations at all?

What about with the abilities on Morrigan's cards (Looks That Kill and Shadow Blade) that hit foundations with a specific difficulty. Is a non-existent difficulty considered 0? Or can it not be targeted since it has no difficulty, and therefore it has no difficulty less than X?

Aren't we glad I ask the hard-hitting questions, then? =P

I guess I'm someone.

Yes - They can be targeted.

A card that is face down has no printed values.

If there is an undefined value, but a value is required substitue with 0.

As for differentiating between mutliple face down cards in a staging area, how do you differentiate between multiple copies of Revenant's Calling?

You point and say "Lynette's is targeting 'that one'"

If you need to put a coin, or a dice, or a marker of some sort to indentify the face down foundation for a reason, then feel free to do so.

Or if you've turned Revenant's calling face-down & Amy's Assistance face down, feel free to say "The Face down card formerly known as Revenant's Calling."

I still dont understand the ruling that lynettes still copies the card that becomes flipped. I wouldnt it copy the now blank side of the text?

yup

it would copy the blank side, because it's an exact copy of the foundation.

If it didn't copy the foundation, then it would be a 3/6 Asset that does nothing, and sits in your staging area and looks pretty.
