TIE Defender at 1/280 scale?

By SentinelJP, in X-Wing

Sorry if this has been covered, but I just noticed that the TIE Defender is shown to be at 1/280 scale instead of the standard 1/270 scale. Is this just a typo? Or would it be necessary for them to rescale this particular ship?

My knowledge of the TIE Defender and the EU is limited.

Do you really think 1/270th vs 1/280th is any different?

indeed.. maybe millimeters in difference.. so .. nothing to worry about

It's most likely a typo since 1/270 and 1/280 would be virtually indistinguishable (~ 4% difference). If the model was 40 mm long at 1/270 scale it would be 38.6 mm at 1/280.

Dude, you're crazy - that 1.4mm difference is going to throw the whole thing off!! I'm not going to be able to put it on the table without chewing my fingernails to nothing from the stress of it! I'll possibly even be driven to compose a series of comparison photos from completely scale-less source material such as TIE Fighter screen shots, Decipher CCG card scans, and a photograph of my Steel Chronicles book which would clearly show that the Defender if 4% smaller (or was it larger?) than it was supposed to be!

Looks like Gosrics Shapeways minis for you then.. lol.. I can live with a 4% difference.. hahaha.. awesome.. thanks for the chuckle..

Now that I think about it, you're right. This is unacceptable! Thanks for ruining the game, FFG!

Not worried, I was just curious if the actual TIE Defender was in fact a little larger in the lore? ;-)

I'm sure I can handle a 4% difference. I've already resolved to buy six of each of the new ships, and the TIE Defender looks like it's going to be my new favourite... After my current favourite, the YT 1300, or my other favourite, the X-Wing, not to forget my real actual favourite, the TIE Interceptor, or my other, other favourite, the Y-Wing, the A-Wing (which is my favourite), the Firespray which I've always considered my favourite, the TIE Bomber (my actual favourite) and of course the Lambda which is everybody's favourite (or should be!)
