Wave 4, anyone?

By CrookedWookie, in X-Wing

Hahah, I was just being thorough! Maybe her special ability would be turning on the player, when you would attack with Erisi, slap yoself.

Also, Wingman card appears to read: At the start of the combat phase... 1 focus token to a friendly ship at range [obscured]. So a card that turns you into Dutch/Kyle. Thoughts?

When you fly with Erisi as your wing, go directly to Lusankya. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 credits.

I thought about Mara as well. A lot of the names are taken from the old CCG game. Bandit and Tanabe Squadrons.

I MIGHT sill have my old CCG cards in binders in the storage room.... maybe I should do some research.

I still play the Decipher CCG with a big group of players out of Virginia. We're all super-psyched to see our favorite card game live on in some small part through X-Wing. Everyone in our little community freaked out when we saw Obsidian pilots!

I'm getting so many TIE Phantoms it will look unhealthy. I love that ship.

A squadron of 12?

Unhealthy numbers are rarely even. They are usually prime. So 19! :D

Whereabouts in Virginia? I'm in Winchester (seems to be an Attack Wing town, but we can't be perfect)

You can tell FFG is quite fond of the old CCG. You can see it in both X-wing and the LCG.

The old CCG was a great game. Still have all my cards.

Me too!

Well then... I had thought it impossible to have anything spoiled for me by now, but there you go. My roomate bought me the entire X-wing series for christmas, having never read it before now, and I have JUST finished Wedge's Gamble, so the Erisi comment spoiled the traitor for me. I don't mind spoilers, and the book is almost two decades old now, but still... spoiler alert lol

I want Corran Horn as that PS8 Headhunter pilot! Wedge and Gavin didn't fly at Coruscant, but the others did, and it was Asyr's intro to the squadron (I now understand... because I just finished the book and she hadn't joined yet lol.) In fact, looking closely (and squinting) at the picture, it looks like that pilot's first name might be Corran

I am SO sorry. Like you said, it's a couple of decades old, so I didn't even think to put a spoiler alert.

It's not a problem lol, I was highly suspicious of some stupid mind control / convienient amnesia on Tycho's part, and am figuring that it'll all be revealed in the book I'm about to read (The Krytos Trap) so I'll have figured it out by the end of the week anyway, but it was the only plot twist that was poised to actually surprise me in recent memory from books I've read.

Heh, I too have recently started reading through the series. After I finished the first book, I took a look at the wookiepedia to just see the pictures of the main characters. And don't you know that there were two major spoilers on the very first line (Erisi being one of them) that my wandering eyes couldn't help but see... *sigh... Oh well.

Well, keep going. Make it through Wraith Squadron and you'll understand why Lt. Kettch should be the first PS10 pilot.

They broke the mold when they made Lt. Kettch.
You were the best of us, buddy.

:D

So, to continue zooming in, here's some more info that I can see.

Z-95:

Bandit Squadron Pilot - PS2

Fala (?) Squadron Pilot - PS4 - No mention of Fala squadron on Wiki, so I'm thinking this is wrong. I'm sure on the _ _ l a though.

Lieutenant ____ - PS6 unique

___en - PS8 unique - Note Garvin Darklighter doesn't fit the spacing, nor do I believe that G is the first letter.

Munitions Failure MOD - (can't really make anything besides the first word, 'When' out)
Decoy - At the start of ______________
Wingman - At the start [of the] combat phase, ____ 1 stress token ______ friendly ship at
E Wing:
Kililyk (?) Squadron Pilot - PS1
Blackmoon Squadron Pilot - PS3
Etahn A'baht - PS5 Unique (already spoiled)
Colonel (?) ___ - PS8 Unique
R7 - Once per round ___ defending, if you ___ target lock an _______ attack value ________
Felchette Torp - Discard this card and spend your target lock to perform this attack. After you perform this attack, the defender receives 1 stress token if the hull value is _ or lower.

Defender:

Delta Squadron Pilot - PS1

Onyx Squadron Pilot - PS3

Outmaneuver EPT - When attacking if _____ your firing arc __________ reduce the agility ______

Predator EPT - When attacking _____ reroll 1 attack ______ defenders _____ value is (symbol) ___________

Phantom:

Tactician - After you perform _____ a ship ______ firing arc _________

Stygium Particle Aug___ation - MOD (not phantom specific) - When you ________ evade action. *This is where the evade token comes into play*

Advanced Cloaking D[evice] - PHANTOM ONLY MOD(?) - Afer you ____ attack, ___ a free ____

Hope this helps some. I for one am glad to see what the flelchette torps finally do. It seems like the theme of W4 is attack arcs synergy.

Just so you know, the PS 2 Z-95 is actually Bandit Squadron.

Someone in one of the threads had also translated the ps1 E-Wings as Knave squadron, as well. Which makes a lot of sense, since it was their unit callsign in their first appearance.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Knave_Squadron

Did they ever describe Thrawn as being a capable pilot?

I'm so jealous of those of you getting to read the X-wing series for the first time. O how I long for that. I've read all of those books like 4 times. The writing isn't always the best but such good plot's, twists, and lovable characters.

PS: I love the idea of Corran Horn (my favorite character of all time in the EU) as a pilot but a PS8 Z-95 doesn't seem to do him justice unfortunately. Plus no spot for Whistler would be a shame

Forgive me if I've missed it, but I've been looking and haven't seen anyway mention it. What's the second reference card for the TIE Phantom for? I'm not trying to point out anything new, I'm asking because I still don't have a wide variety of ships in this game and I'm pretty sure there are reference cards I'm already missing. I have the Modifications and Titles one, and the other is obviously for the new Cloak Action.

Haha, whoops, brain fart on that one =P

Consensus seems to be for Decloaking. So Cloaking may be pretty rules intensive.

What's the second reference card for the TIE Phantom for?

Probably decloaking .

Edit: too late
