Wave 4, anyone?

By CrookedWookie, in X-Wing

Honestly I never heard of any of these ships before I started reading the forums. They look very "Star Warsey" to me, though. Somebody has to say it though. The TIE Defender is just plain silly looking.

Download a port of TIE Fighter for the PC. Fly one. Then fight against one.

It won't look so silly after that.

How quick will the Z-95's be picked up considering you'll need 8 to swarm it up? I'm betting it will be the first mini to sell out because the cost of them is so cheap you'll need more than double the amount of the other expansion packs.

So my list to get becomes:

8 Z-95

3 E-wings

3 Tied Defenders

3-4 Tie phantoms (depending on if the cost are at or below 25pts)

I hope FFG is producing to those ratios as well...

im only starting with 2 of each ship - from there im leaning towards imperials - im not rushing to get 8 head hunters - im waiting for the dust to clear and test out all 4 ships a bit first.

Ace - Rebel transport - wave 4... I need moar money

Does that 8PS z95 say Jaden? Jaden Korr?

So, the whole debate about how likely FFG is to venture out into the EU is put to rest. And in grand fashion. I look forward to playing with all four of these ships.

The new maneuver: my guess is a white k-turn.

Yellow manuver... It grants a free evade.

Looks to me like the Z95 pilots are: Airen (Cracken), Lieutenant someone, a 4-letter Squadron, and Bandit Squadron

Defender: Rexler, Colonel someone, Onyx, Delta

I can't really make out much on the E-wing, and on the Phantom it just looks like the named characters have really short names.

I would hazard it is Lt. Blount and Tala Squadron Pilot for the Z-95. FFG do love their SWCCG references.

Lt. Blount... He was gonna pilot an X-wing, but then he got high? No? Okay.

Exactly.

The TIE Defender is one of the AWESOMEST fighters in any game. Period.

Regardless of what you think it looks like, if that's all you judge it by, you would be a fool, and then later a dead fool.

It is the Mary Sue of starfighters, and it is famous for having been left out of X-wing vs. TIE Fighter, though the ship does have a data entry in the game's databank with a note that reads: "Advanced space superiority fighter. This craft is too powerful to be put in this simulation. Dream on, fanboy!"

That being said, it remains to be seen how well it performs in this game. The TIE Fighter is much more durable here than it is in any of the flight sim games, so we'll see what it does in this game.

I love my tri-winged a**kicker,

I wanna paint all my Y-wing kills on the wings, but the whole miniature would be a flying scorecard.

Could be. That is what you flew around in during the Jedi Academy video game.

Who else can't wait to fly two rebel flights (3 ships,) one of rookie X's and one of bandit Z's, set up to cover one another. Let the X's fly in first and use the Z's to cover their tails. 6 ship rebel builds... can't wait :D

Literally. As i read this thread, every single time i went to the next page the number of pages increased by 1. I started at 4 pages overall and now it's 11 pages…i'm at page 9 (so i guess i skipped 2) and i'm not gunna keep going.

AWESOME WAVE 4…very happy.

EDIT: I guess this is page 12……….surprise surprise

Once again Ffg has left some with jaws drawn open and others drooling at the mouth...This game has evolved from a simple pull out miniature game , to a expansive and expensive game...The addiction is quite strong and at times overwhelming ; and yet still quite satisfying to us all...I am looking forward to seeing what the Epic gaming system will look like...As far as this new wave , that remains to be seen...This will be the 1st wave that I do not pre-order...

My plan for this wave is 4 Headhunters and 2 each of the other 3. Judging by the point cost of the 3 heavies 2 is a reasonable number to run in a list.

I'm getting so many TIE Phantoms it will look unhealthy. I love that ship.

A squadron of 12?

I bet they announced Wave 4 so we'd quit breathing down their necks about the new X-wing pilots.

Nice try, FFG. But I'm on you like a Sandtrooper riding a Dewback.

She was flying for Talon Karrde, though. Not sure if that counts as being a pilot for the Rebel Alliance.

I thought about Mara as well. A lot of the names are taken from the old CCG game. Bandit, Tala, and Tanabe Squadrons.

Edit: You can see the PS2 is "Bandit Squadron Pilot" and the PS5 is "Tala Squadron Pilot." Woot.

I MIGHT sill have my old CCG cards in binders in the storage room.... maybe I should do some research.

Oh crap! I nearly forgot, the Rogues flew Z-95's when taking Coruscant in "Wedge's Gamble." Wedge, Tycho, Erisi, Corran, Gavin, and Asyr.

Bringing up Irisi in the company of proper Rogues is BLASPHEMY!
