I still love the story from the prequels; the only thing that ruined it for me was the way the actors were directed to act (let's face it, the actors themselves can act, as we undoubtedly know from their other films, so the problem likely lies with the direction).
What are you most looking forward to with AoR?
Anakins "rise" is in the The Clone Wars series which captures the magic of the OT in a way the prequels never could IMHO.
I gotta say though..... Attack of the Clones - bad love story + better dialogue (the one liners specifically) = one of the best Star Wars movies. It's a diamond in the rough... can say the same for Menace and Revenge.......
oh Yeah... Im looking forward to AoR so there is a second rulebook at the table. Not to mention six more careers, more spieces, more weapons, more ships, a new force power, and all the beautiful fluff in the second half of the book. Unfortunatly it's looking like there's not going to be anything to look forward too in the EotE line anytime soon, seeing as nothing has been announced since "the jewel of yavin" (which I MUST HAVE!) Also this just me but I would have preferred "Hoth Leia" over "Hair-Buns Leia" on the cover.
I think your going to get Episode IV versions of the characters on the covers, no matter how much some may want Jabba's slave girl Leia.
Yeah..... just imagine the Empire strikes back versions of characters on covers for a sec....
EotE: Han in carbinite, Chewie with C3P0 on his back.....
AoR: Hoth Leia, and one handed Luke....
and not sure about this one yet of course, but:
F&D: Ghost Obi Wan and Crazy eyed Yoda (from when he was testing Lukes patience)
Im hoping for slave Leia on the cover of a future sourcebook (Hopefully a Hutt Space setting book....)
Is there a date for this book? I thought I saw something about this month.... but I think thats the Beginners book.

Nothing definite, though the Upcoming Products page shows that it's "on the boat" and listed as a Q2 2014 release, which covers April through June. Odds are May, since the Jewel of Yavin adventure is also "on the boat" and slated for a Q2 2014 release. Then again, if FFG is planning June to release the AoR core rulebook, it could be that the BegBox will have an April release, giving folks a couple months to pick up and try out that game before the big $60 book drops.

Gotcha. I really don't plan on picking up the beginners box. I won't lie it might end up being a spontaneous buy but considering I already know I will get the core book it seems a bit waiseful to get the beginners box just to get a preview.

With Max Rebo!

A mild point of correction: Jewel of Yavin is slated for a March 2014 release, according to the upcoming product page. Assuming that the Age of Rebellion Beginner Game is on the same boat, (they both updated at the same time) I think an April release for the Beginner Game is a reasonably safe bet.
An updated Alliance Special Operations slang guide.

Ah... Sy Snootles: the true eye candy of the Star Wars saga. Hubba hubba!

They must have just updated it, because when I checked just prior to my post, the Upcoming Products page listed Q2 2014.
The core rule book is out, and a very enjoyable read. As a SW AOR "GM in training", what I am looking forward to is FFG providing me with enough reference materials equal to or better than what I already own from previous SW RPGs (d6, d20/Saga). I would like to be confident that as a GM FFGs new Star Wars game gives me the right tools and reference materials so that I can sell all my previous versions of this game on EBay. ![]()
