This card says to kneel a character that was stood in the standing phase. What if there's more than one? Do I get to choose who must kneel or does my opponent get to choose which character he or she has to kneel?

Each time a character stands in the standing phase it creates a response opportunity for the brothel, the overall result being that you chose which response opportunity to respond, to letting you pick the target.
