Quick question

I move my ship

My ship runs into another ship, however where the maneuver guide ends the back of my ship just barely lands on the back of the other ships base

When I am moving my ship to its final position does it go back head on, face to face, or back to back since it almost made it, but not quite?

The ship moves backwards along the maneuver template until it is touching but no longer overlapping, even if moving forward another millimeter would seem easier.

Happened last night where I flew over the Falcon but the back of my base just barely landed on his.

At the time we were unsure, but we played where our backs were touching.
