Hrm... I'm not sure you're getting much benefit out of the autoblaster. On Kath. I wonder if moving it to the super fast Lambda might not be the better call if you want to go the autoblaster route. I do love me some Dark Curse, though I openly wonder whether he is worth the loss of two academy pilots. Still, it could be an interesting list and it definitely needs some field testing. ![]()
I should point out I am 4-0 with this list myself, facing various lists. I've tried all sorts of other combinations with Kath and just haven't found anything I like better.
If I were going to change anything, I would drop the two TIE Fighters and take another ship. Maybe an Interceptor or a bomber.
Keeping my opponents ship stressed really slows them down
Edited by Krynn007Herm... the thought of Kath w/ an Autoblaster is intriguing... You either don't roll crits and get lots of hits, or you roll a crit, and they get stress... but your regular hits still get through. It seems like the autoblaster was made for her ability. And with PS7 + EH, she should be able to manipulate more R1 shots, and has the rear arc so she can just zoom past afterwards instead of K turning. I like it.
Autoblaster bad... BAD!!!
I tried kath with marksmen and gunner. Along with kagi, with rebel captive, and 2xacademy pilots,I made one small mistake but still won, will definitely try it again.I should point out I am 4-0 with this list myself, facing various lists. i actually like Marksman on Kath - it gives her the ability to regularly dish out stress. This is at the expense of not taking expert handling though but i can see how the tradeoff could work... thinking about it now i suppose a heavily shielded target eg. B-Wings might just choose to not cancel the stress and take it on their shields - they only have 1 def dice after all so they probably will not roll the evade they need which perhaps makes marksman less viable against B-Wings.

The thought proces being: i have run the scarlet cowgirl build five tiems now. my normal hits have been canceled by dice or tokens and my crits seem to go through (usually taking out shields). with autoblaster the hits go through and if they choose to cancel crits they get the stress. if not they take hits and crits which is yummy
Cubby - i like ur idea. i think it could def work. just have to get max use out of that blaster - not easy to do as its a close range weapon - if the engage u at med range it just sits there but i can see how using expert handling with it could get the job done. def worth play testing.

Ya in theory ( and in myhead) it sounds good to use EH to get in close and use the autoblaster. Definitely will be play testing this weekend.
The whole reason I was tinkering with it is because im just not having as much success as others seem to be having in this forum.
I love the though tprocess behind th ebuild but am not having success and not sure why. I am taking into account the advice given throughout the forums, but it just hasnt panned outyet
I'll point out that a large ship barrel roll is basically 1.5 move forwards or backwards. 2.5 move equates 1 range, so if you can't get into R1 with the auto, you can barrel roll back into R3. You should never be stuck at R2. Given this is just considering 1 ship (though you can only shoot at 1 ship, so you if you're in R1 of it, might as well blow it up).
It's real bad vs. Bwings which is the identified bane of this list so I can't see autoblaster making it any better.

this is a benefit only at range 1 and it costs 5 points. (click the link if you want more info on autoblaster)

Well i was consistantly getting to range one with the slave so as to have for guns on Ibtisams 1 defense die. however, i averaged two hits with one being a crit every now and then. the hit was either dodged or focused due to stress re-roll and the crit would get eaten up by a shield. consequently, Kath's pilot ability was not put to use. i figured that i could dance into range 1 (or out to range 3 with EH if not able to get a clean shot) then use autoblaster. The normal hit(s) would got through while the crits would cause stress if avoided.
Since lots of people are throwing out 3 ship lists using these 2 core pieces:
Kath + EH + Rebel Captive
Omni + Engine +Intel Agent
Turr + PTL + Stealth
Might be able to get away with only PTL on Turr and add stuff back on the shuttle. Just came to mind today when subbing Turr in for Fel in a list.

Kath Scarlet
+ EH
+ Rebel C
Omnicron Group Pilot
+ Engine
+ FCS
+ Gunner
Leaves us with enough room for one of the following Interceptors
Turr Phennir
(Naked)
Lieutenant Lorrir
+ Targeting Computer
Royal Guard Interceptor
+ PTL/ Stealth
Saber Squadron Pilot
+ Opportunist/ Stealth+Adrenaline Rush
I would probably go with the RGI + PTL. I would also be tempted to try no Gunner on the shuttle and upgrade using those points but if those points are going into an interceptor that's a bigger risk.
In my local meta I have 2 players that run 4 B wings in formation. I anticipate either player starting in formation in line with the asteroid boarder. How does this type of squad and formation play vs the cowgirl? One guy runs four FCS daggers, the other 4 AS blues.
Multi-Bwings are an uphill battle for Scarlet and Cow...for everyone really (I'm becoming more and more convinced they have 1 too many HP's)... It's very hard to take down one of their guns if it's all bwings. Have to fly very well and keep Scarlet at range 1 behind them with BR and breaking those free TL's are nice. When Stress happens due to her ability or via captive you need to pounce on that bwing before it gets unstressed.
Edited by Rakky WistolI agree, B wings have more power than there 22 points should afford them.

Against the guy w/ 4 FCS Daggers you call over the tournament organizer and request a disqualification for your opponent. A dagger w/ FCS is 26 points, making his list 104pts total.

If two of them are actually Blues, it's 100. Otherwise, yeah, get him DQed
Bwings are awesome and their pilots are cheating... no wonder they feel so hard to beat.
So... How does scarlet albino hamplanet beat 4 B wings?
