Psyker rolling a 9 question

By Chacmaster, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Our Psyker has an irrational fear of Corruption points ^^

"I am taking your sanctioning brand and wiping my own butt with it"

Awesome!!! partido_risa.gif

Awwww.. Don't be like that. You only get Corruption points for Perils of the Warp, not Psychic Phenomena. And look, Armour of Contempt is on your career's advance list. And sometimes the psychic phenomena can be helpful. I was knocked out of time for one minute . . . just as three heavily armed xenos were going to attempt to shred my lightly armoured self with big scary long barreled death shooty things. See? It's not that bad.

So go ahead. Use that power. Roll those dice. Collect those 9s.

What's the worst that could happen?

Muhahahahaha!

So my psyker died last night.... sad.gif

Perils of the warp and what do you know... I rolled a 100... Warp feast... Burp....

My GM said I could burn a fate point and come back (I think he is being very generous because he feels sorry for me) but I'm tempted to re-roll another character.

Psykers are three rolls from dying every round....

Remember with the erratta you can spend a fate point to reroll any rolls, warp feast is just 1/4000 power rolls

Really?!!

Which page on the Errata says that?

errata 2.0 p.11 4. paragraph.
states that.
In the Using Fate Points section on page 185, the first listed
use of Fate Points, “Re-roll any one failed Test,” should be
changed to: “Re-roll any one Test.”

It says you can reroll any one TEST (a roll against a characteristic), not any one ROLL. So you could reroll a Weapon Skill test, but not the damage caused by your weapon. I don't think the PotW roll counts as a Test.

Correct, PoTW rolls are not tests and therefor cannot be rerolled by using a fate point.

I'd say burning a fate point might allow it in certain circumstances. For instance, rolling a 100 on the PotW, reroll it to escape death. If it comes up 100 again... Fate says your dead, live with it...

I allow fate points to reroll psychic phenomena and perils of the warp. I hadn't noticed that the text says "test" not "roll", but meh... it seems to me to fit with the spirit.

I would let them BURN a fate point, whittling the effect down to either a forced daemonic pact ("be my servant, or I eat your soul") or a buttload of Corruption Points (like 30).
