Cog ’o' Two acryllic tokens mini-review

By Scurvy Lobster, in X-Wing

We just got 4 complete sets to our gaming groupe, and we really like them.

One little remark would be that the Ion tokens are green, they really should have been red (the Imperial Red colour is great) or at least orange like the crits and stress tokens. Now they have the same colour as the evade/fokus tokens which seems a bit illogical to me.

Are these templates thicker than the ones from Litko?

You can get them in the colors you want, all you have to do is put it in the notes when you place your order. I asked for blue ion tokens and got them. I also requested 6 ion instead of 8 and that the other extra 2 in the pack were exchanged for 1 focus and 1 evade.

It may pay to contact them first but I'm sure they will accommodate.

The templates are the same thickness as Litko.

Well I normally upload to my server and link with tags.. but something like photobucket would also work.

NOW you tell me..!! ;)

Missed out on that possibility.

Anyone wanna buy some yellow action markers and green ion tokens...?

I'm really not seeing the problem with the markings on the moment templates, if i set my dial to a 5 straight then opt to use a 3 and a 2, or any other combo, how does this give me any advantage??

Depending on the position of surrounding ships you now could have an accurate gauge of where you other ships will end up with their movements. If ships are relatively lined up (as they often are in opening formations) the use of incremental templates would allow you information not available with the stock template. Telling you whether you need to boost or barrel roll with the current ship or if one of the other ships has Advanced Sensors what action they need to preform at the given time. The incremental measurements give further corroboration to the estimates you are forced to rely on normally.

my issue in that context is just, that the amount of "extra" information you gain from markings on a template, which is just used in the general neighborhood of an other ship and not directly to measure some other ships movement, is minimal compared to normal eyesight and template-less estimates.

if you can't estimate template moves with similar accuracy you will run into problems anyhow. :)

So my order arrived blazing fast, I could not belive it when it arrived.

Im wanting to paint it with some white paint. Im just wondering how to go about doing this.... The paper cover makes a nice template for doing so but the problem is how to go about cleaning it first?

Just use a stiff nylon brush.. I dug in with a small sponge tipped tool, and found verry little debris. Then I just painted in the white, slight bit of water to my paint for good flow. Let dry and peeled off the film. Any bit of paint that got on the top surface easily scratched off with a fingernail..

i ordered my templates on sunday, they were shipped tuesday and i got them today, thats like omg fast.
