Daemonic Combi-Weapons

By Drachdhar, in Black Crusade Rules Questions

Would both weapons in a Combi-Weapon get the benefits from being a daemonic ranged weapon? Ie dmg boosts, abilities, unlimited ammo etc?

If not, why? And how would that affect a straight combi-bolter?

I assume they do; a combi-weapon is different than a weapon attachment (though they don't really appear to be much different than a weapon attachment).

I find though that specifically infinite ammo for a combi-weapon's typically one-shot "secondary" is a bit of a rules-abusing loophole.

Yes.

Not as mean as shoving a demon into a Tachyon Arrow...

That is so wonderfully evil I'm actually crying.

thats-the-evilest-thing-i-can-imagine-me

But the only way of making a Tachyon Arrow into a daemonic weapon is to first turn it into a Legacy Weapon first, though. Or that the GM somehow (strangely) deems it to have emotional resonance and connection to a god/daemon (the non-weapon "Legacy of Slaughter" thing out of the corebook), which is highly unlikely I'd believe. So that'll probably not happen anytime soon, or at all.

Are you talking about Legacy Weapon from Tome of Blood or meaning Legacy of Slaughter in making Daemon weapon in BC CRB?

But still in my opinion the answer is "No"

It just makes it more difficult to make into a Daemon Weapon but it's still viable. And Tachyon Arrow could have emotional resonance with Khorne as it is weapon made to kill things or connection to specific daemon it was used to kill.

But this is just me spouting Heresy in the morning with my cup of coffee.

Actaully the phenomena on combi weapons beng one-shot is a lot newer that most think originally it was just a case of the two weapons having been strapped together and you got to pick which you wanted to fire..

In a RPG system rather than a TT one the practical upshot is that you have two guns you can hold in one hand at the same time thus cutting down on readying time.

It can't really see how a combi weapon with standard clip sizes for both weapons (or maybe half by applying compact to the second weapon) is really much different than having quick draw and each weapon separately.

The way I solved it, for balance(lol, balanced daemon weapons), was to add Recharge to the Melta/Plasma/Flamer wotsit.

Shoving a daemon into a Necron weapon... Would be very hard, fluff-wise that is, since Necron stuff is very warp resistant. Totally worth a try though, muahahaha!
