Highlander

By Fbaranow, in Star Wars: The Card Game

Has anyone here tried playing SW in a format similar to MTG Highlander?

I'm talking about using 10 or more different OS in one deck. Basically "there can be only one" of every objective.

I didn't have a chance to try it yet (most of my colleagues play standard tournaments) but I think it would be a great oportunity to use less popular cards and play outside the meta.

What do you think?

My playgroup tried it, It was pretty fun, we also tried to make them as themed as we could. My lightside was all hoth.

It would definitely be something for league play.

We had an Highlander turnament in Paris and it was a lot of fun!

And how many Cards did yo use? 10 sets or more?

Most of us made decks with 10 sets, a couple people used more. I think 10 worked the best, more than that and your decks has too many different cards I think.

For true Highlander, maybe add the restriction that no two cards in a deck (not just objective sets) may be the same.

that would mean there would be some objective sets that couldn't be used

Darn it, I completely forgot that some objective sets contain multiples of the same card. Well in that case, either ignore what I said, or only allow multiples of cards that occur in the same objective set.
