Boss' BIG Attack Wing Project
Have you considered using Round 2's line of 1:2500 kits? There is also a long line of resin kits as well, from the Enterprise era to post-Next Gen era. The biggest is the Enterprise-E, which is about 7.5in long. They also look really good when finished:
Yes Sir, AMT has about a dozen of the ships we want for STAR TREK ATTACK WING.
I am going to go into it all in future posting for this project. The Eaglemoss range is good for some of the models , like the Cardassian Galor, or the Federation Akira Classes. If you read my full posting, I said that I was going to use the few models that fit my project...from Eagelmoss.
Say Bro, are these your Cadet builds?

So far I have found about fifty models that are in the 1/2500 realm, which is the way to go for this project. I am going to focus on getting the models that are currently in the ATTACK WING game first. Then add the crazy cool extra stuff.
Not to count rivets on you buddie, but that Enterprise E is ten inches and some change long. The Cadet Excelsior is the seven inch ship of these kits.
Aw crap, you're right. I was just glancing at my model and didn't really think to actually measure it. ^^;
I wish those were mine. Currently, my 1:2500 models are on loan to a friend at the moment, but I'll get them back this Saturday. They're very nice when completed.
So I guess you're going with styrene and resin kits for this project? Personally, I would do this because I'm a scale nut (one of my favorite parts of X-wing, actually), but to each his own.
We help each other like this...don't we.
I am absolutely going to keep as close as I can to 1/2500 scale.
Anything that is exact, or close to right, and looks very good, is fair game for this project.
I got my first HUGE (Ha, Ha!) Romulan War Bird a few days ago, from EBay. It is the 15" Playmates toy, but it looks as good as the 13" AMT Rebop, and it is bad ass. According to YOU, Mr. MF there was a 1,000 Meter 'ish version of the ship.
Well now I figure if you do a 1.5 times 10 on the good ole calc-lay-ter...you get a 15" ship.
This is lazy math on my part, but try it.
For example the Enterprise D at 1.5" times 6.4 comes out to a 9.6" model...
Guess how long the AMT kit builds to...ten sexy inches!
"Close Nuff!"
Erm this might not be an useful remark but do you guys know this site?
Very useful!
I even called them last week to make sure that I could get that Vor'Cha if it sells out between now and when I get paid again. It is a little over 7" long and cost a mere $75. I'll pay $10 an inch..
I am going to get that ship here in about three weeks. EBay fun tapped me out already.

Heh, that's usually my one-stop-shop for all things sci-fi model related.

Um, *I* said that? Actually, the Romulan
D'Deridex
-class Warbird is 4,400 meters long.
At least, that's what Andy Probert meant for it to size out to when he designed the thing. In the show it appeared significantly smaller, about on par with the Galaxy class in terms of length. But it was never intended to be that small.

Man, I
have
slept since then.
Well I've bought some fleet scale SW ships from them to with:
Nice!
I posted Part Two of this series in it's own thread as an experiment...dunno why.
For continuities sake the rest of the series will be posted in this topic thread.
Episode three has been published.
You mean I CAN Play Attack Wing (except for the Borg...unless you are all out like myself) in glorious 1/2550 scale...for real?
YES!
I was a bad boy...and it was fun too!
I think I have enough models to run a proper STAR TREK Game...for now, but there is The Dominion War to build too.
