Hey all!

I want to announce that Madness Games and Comics in Plano, TX will be hosting League play for X-Wing from 5pm to Midnight every Friday starting February 21st and going for 8 weeks. It is anticipated that the store will continue doing further leagues on the same day AS WELL AS hosting Store Championships (See HERE ) and likely a Regional (pending FFG approval).

League Structure: Show up on Friday from 5pm-midnight and find an opponent to play! No entry cost/signup required. Each match you play following standard FFG tournament rules counts towards the league and prize giveaways. We will have score sheets for recording wins/losses for each match that you can turn into the organizers each week. The league will run for 6 weeks and prizes will be given away for various achievements. I will update this thread with current standings/breakdown each week (usually on Monday).

Prizes: We will be giving away prizes from the 2013 Season 1, 2 and Season 3 FFG Kits. Prizes for the league will be given throughout the 6 weeks with the 'biggest' ones the final week. Obviously the more you participate, the more special stuff you will be rewarded.

That would be so great if madness could host regionals! That way we don't have to drive somewhere out of town. Also does "standard FFG tournament rules" mean we will be playing timed matches now?

I vote "no" so that we keep the games informal and easy-going.

I mean that if two players agree to it, then great, they are more than welcome to time themselves, but it won't count more or less for the purposes of the league scoring.

I still encourage everyone to play in whatever wacky ways they can agree on, provided there is a winner and a loser for each game. They will be scored the same though, no matter if you play 100pts, 200, scenarios, timed match, whatever.

So it looks like Madness will be hosting Store Championships. The FFG page says those run through March. Are these planned yet? How will they impact the league?

Excited for the new league! Glad we are going right into it! Hopefully I'm able to make it out more consistently this time. But I'll be there this Friday for sure (hopefully lol).

As you may have noticed, I added a stat this time around. Its purely experimental (I have no intent on using it unless it turns out to be interesting), is the number of points you score per game on average. The highest is a 3.00 and the lowest is a 1.00. Not sure how useful this will be, is really just a reflection of your record using this points structure (its more useful in other structures), but we'll see.

(Greg P here) I'm really going to miss getting up there on Friday nights, since my son's work schedule has changed. If I can get to a point where my foot heals up and I can drive again, I will try and make it. Mark and I have really enjoyed the Star Wars X-Wing game and hope we can get back to league play soon...
