Luke's pewpews and friends

I'm trying to build a squad around Luke Skywalker. Never really played him or took the time to learn what are the best upgrades for him. I just did 2 squads, which are the same except for Luke's upgrades.

What would you change/keep?

LIST-A

Luke Skywalker + R2-D2 (32)

Gold Squadron Pilot + Proton Torpedoes (22)

Personal opinion, I much prefer my Y-Wings with Ion's over torps. Goes a long way to making the dial meaningless for Y's.

Luke with R2-D2 is quite nice, and DtF is a natural addition to him, because he can regen the shield he just lost.

I would go with R2 D2.

The reason being, that if you have damage already , you are better of avoiding to take more damage ( so focusing to boost your defense) than having a chance to repair damage.

Also if you timely repair your shields you don't need to repair damage :)

I'd definitely go for R2-D2.

I'd ALSO say that you should almost never pick up torpedoes when other options are available. Ion Cannon Turrets or Blaster Turrets will help you out more, as you can use them more than once!

Personal opinion, I much prefer my Y-Wings with Ion's over torps. Goes a long way to making the dial meaningless for Y's.

Draw their Fire? For real? Never thought about that and makes complete sense.

In my head I thought you had to take the crit but you may...that could be awesome coupled with shield regen...

Here, the HWK is basically wasted. Without the ability to shoot (primary attack is a single lonely die), you are only using him for his ability and saboteur. Yes, his ability is nice, but not 21 points nice.

Try replacing him with something like Rookie Pilot here.

You're right, there's no point for his ability with Ion Turrets anyways since i'll "control" the enemy movement of some.

No to Roark. I know you're thinking you'll just spend his actions to turn face down cards face up, but that's only R1, and if he gets action denied / out of R1, he can't do jack with his 1 attack die. If you want to run double turrets and Roark and Luke, how about:

Luke w/ R2D2 + DtF

Gold w/ ICT

Roark w/ ICT

Prototype w/ Stealth

The problem I see with this list is that its rather defensive, but with the ICTs you should have a decent time of staying out of arcs, and getting R1 shots with the prototype. You shoot at 12 8 4 2, and can decide to pull the Gold up to 12 if it's almost dead (or even Luke... don't write off using Roark's ability on Luke if he's low on health and the enemy has PS8/9 people lined up to shoot him). Run the prototype as a blocker. Though I would think you would get better mileage if you dropped DtF and the proto for a rookie.

Khyros, I like your list and the addition of the A-Wing is a good idea, I like it.
