Captain Jonus

The shuttles have Adv. Sensors and Engine Upgrades to allow for maximum maneuverability.

The rest of the upgrades, and the inclusion of Jonus, gives us the following combat phase.

  1. Attack with 4 dice.
  2. If at Range 2-3 from defender, change all Crits to Hits.
  3. If at Range 2-3 from defender and Range 1 from Jonus, re-roll up to 2 dice.
  4. Spend focus if available and necessary.
  5. If at Range 3 from defender, Change two Hit results into Crit results.
  6. Repeat with other Shuttle.

I am open to dropping the Adv. Sensors and Engine Upgrades for a different use of 14 points, but this one looks nice to me.

I figure this fleet struggles the most against a Tie Swarm, even though it's cannons can 1-shot or cripple the ties in question.
To ameliorate this, I'd have the shuttles cover each other as much as possible, so that you can't get into R1 of one without being in the guns of the other.

The problem with that plan is Jonus. If the lambdas aren't in formation, they won't both be getting Jonus' bonus.

Jonus should position himself so that he can potentially barrel-roll into R1 of whichever shuttle has the better hit options. Difficult to fly, but I only have to be slightly better at planning than the Tie Swarm player.

Most other fleets will have severe difficulty against it, I think.

I'd say it lacks firepower. Yes you have good long range firepower, but can only effectively engage targets at long range, and once you lose Jonus or you find he is out of position, you lose much of the benefits of the list. Whilst your shuttles can boost around the board, Jonus can't and I think it will be a struggle to keep him where you need him to be.
