So I'm putting together a folder of images for the starships in Edge of the Empire. The descriptions are great but often lacking. Unfortunately, I'm stuck on the A-Type Stiletto from page 107 in the Suns of Fortune book. Anyone made any fan-art for a Stiletto yet? I'm pretty sure it was created just for the book, so I can't find any official info or art.
I'm imagining a tiny, shiny black dart with an engine on it.
The Mysterious A-Type Stiletto
Depending on what Ogg gets for adding discription pictures to his gennerator ill be attempting to do a few drawings/color prints of what he cant find.
The A-Type is the Nubian Starfighter from Episode 1.
Or something similar.
Edited by strongarm85The book describes the A-type as a "sleek, needle-shaped ship [that] has no fins or other protrusions." So I don't think it's quite the same as the Naboo fighter, though it may be similar. Maybe without the engine pods? I hadn't considered the needle shape might extend backwards rather than protrude forwards.
Probably much like the ep1 star fighter with a engine pod under the pilot the stiletto has no hyper drive I believe so it would be thrusters.
Look on page 65, there's a ship there that I'm pretty sure is meant to be the A-Type Stiletto. It's a nubian-esk like ship (resembles the naboo ships we see in the prequels), although it does have two angled wings it could certainly be considered a "sleek, needle-shaped ship". The ship on page 65 look awesome even if it isn’t the Stiletto.
"Nubian"? Is this spell check autocorrect? I know Tunisia was where they filmed Tatooine, but I didn't know Africa was part of Star Wars officially.

Nope... "Nubian" isn't a typo. Anything "Nubian" comes from the plant Nubia, an outlying world in the Corellian sector. It was first mentioned during trade negotiations between Qui-Gon Jinn and Watto on Tatooine in Episode I.
Thank you. I thought it was autocorrect trying to deal with Naboo. This explains why it is tied in with Suns of Fortune. I had been wracking my brains trying to think how Naboo connected with Corellia.
The ship on page 65 looks like Padme's ship in episode 2.. more of a transport.
Until we get official corresponding art (which the lack of is a huge weakness for this rpg line, in my opinion) I would make it look similar to a naboo fighter, minus the engine wings (the engines can be on the underside) and no astromech slot (don't have the book nearby to check) with the eye of the needle being the cockpit and it tapering back.

I always thought that when Watto said Nubian, that it was "Noobian" and was the proper adjective to describe a person or objects whose origin was from Naboo.
