can I use push the limit to do 2 evades?
push the limit
No, it states in the rule book that you can only do one individual acton per ship, even if one is a free action.
So you can use evade once then focus with PTL but not two evade actions.
Edited by MavolentBrosaAnother example, vader (tie advanced) with Push the Limit. could get 3 actions but they'd all have to be different actions. Evade, barrel roll, focus.. Etc.
ah ok thanks. was gonna put it on fel and then double evade and get a focus

You can put it on Fel and Focus + Evade, and get a second Focus Token. Almost as good, right?

I'd say so. With a stealth device he's VERY hard to hit with 2 focus and an evade!
along similar lines, what about Turr Phennir and PTL? Can I move, barrel roll as action, barrel roll as PTL, then barrel roll after Turr Phennir attacks? The rulebook states that you can only perform one action during perform action step, but PTL states "after you perform an action." Does this mean that I'm past my perform action step and can perform the same action during different phases of the game or is it truly one action per round? The rulebook seems to contradict itself. Pg. 8 "If an ability allows a ship to perform a 'free action,' this action DOES NOT count as the one action allowed during the 'Perform Action' step." Pg 17 Stress "While a ship has at least one stress token, it CANNOT EXCECUTE RED MANEUVERS or PERFORM ANY ACTIONS (even free actions)." So if Phennir uses PTL and then makes an attack, can he do his free boost or barrel roll even though he has a stress? It seem like the answer is no according to the rules I quoted. I'm just very confused by this whole thing and would appreciate someone laying it out for me in simple terms. Didn't mean to hijack this thread.
Ok, for Turr.
If you take an action after his movement, then activate PTL, you get a stress and a second free action. When he then attacks, he has a stress so he cannot take the free barrel roll or boost action. In this case, PTL stops him from acting.
However, if you move, then take one action. Then, during your shooty phase, you may take a free barrel roll or boost action and trigger PTL off THAT action to take another action. That is totally acceptable.
Note, however, that you can't do the same action twice. So, if during the action phase you barrel roll, when you shoot you cannot barrel roll.

No for two reasons:
- You cannot perform any specific action (in this case barrel roll) more than once per round. (rulebook page 9)
- When the third action is taken the ship is stressed.
The rulebook seems to contradict itself.
It doesn't.
Pg. 8 "If an ability allows a ship to perform a 'free action,' this action DOES NOT count as the one action allowed during the 'Perform Action'
That
overrides
adds to the "one action per 'perform action'" limit. Nothing else.

Correct.
Phennir with PTL works as follows:
1) maneuver
2) one action
3) attack
4) boost or barrel roll action from pilot ability
5) activate PTL
6) action from PTL plus stress
Edited by dvorThank you, gentlemen. It all makes sense now. It helps to have it listed out like that.
