Leaving the game, selling collection

SOLD!

Sorry for what I'm about to say, but you can easily get all the above listed materials from Bookdepository.com for around 180 EUR (new; even less if you wait for a promotion), free shipping worldwide (right now, the starter set is 25 EUR, and the Falcon 18 EUR). 200+22 for used items (even if near mint) is quite a lot of money

Maybe. If it is free shipping on everything they have and not only the books as they say on their page it could be cheaper. But you still need to pay tax and custom. Last time I ordered from there they wouldn't write a lower value and I had to pay for shipping as it wasn't books I ordered. Putting that together it actually would have costed me more even though the prices on the items where a little lower.

If I could have ordered for USA directly it would have been even cheaper. But these prices is what it cost in North Europe. I guess I can include free whipping world wide in the price of €200. Other than that, my price still stand.

But thanks for your input :)

Would you be willing to split the items up? I'd be interested in the interceptor and Slave I.

Sorry. I only sell as a whole set.

Ok, just be aware that I don't think you'll get many takers for the whole lot as most here have sizable collections already and 200 euros isn't really cheaper than what retail would cost...

Well, in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, GB and some other North European countries (I'm in Norway) the total retail is still 264 EUR. Maybe I won't get it sold but if I give it a try I can't make it much cheaper just because it is so cheap in the US. I didn't really expect buyers from outside Europe because I knew it is cheaper in the US IF you can get it without paying taxes and import duty and whatnot. I'm not trying to rob anyone off. The price is good and you do save good money. But I do envy you guys from the Us :)

Admittedly, I don't know your pricing over in Europe, in the US market what you have is 260 in US dollars.. I know the euro is higher.

Understandibly you'd like to get close to what you put into it.. good luck selling it off, maybe consider selling a couple here and there, might make it easier to sell off.

You really should break down things a bit more. It doesn't have to be item by item, but perhaps have the Imperials as one set, the Rebels as another, and the Core Game as a third.

With two core sets it is even easier than that: you'd have an "Imperial Side" and "Rebel Side" even if there is a little mixing where the core set is concerned. If needed you can even take all the core TIEs and match them to the Imperials and core X-Wings to go with the Rebels although the X-Wing should bring the torpedo, droids, and maybe even Shields with them.

Wow... I clicked on this thread out of curiosity, but I can't honestly see anyone paying that much. Maybe Europeans are used to paying more, maybe us Americans are used to paying less, but that is about twice the retail cost here in the US. If I added that up on CoolStuffInc, that would come to about $180 - $190 but your asking price in USD is about $269 based on a retail price of $356!

Does this stuff really cost that much more in Europe??

I can only re-iterate what has already been stated, might be interested in some of it but not all as even if you have only a few items this is a sizable collection.

B-Wings and Ties are my interest.

No, this stuff doesn't cost that much in Europe...

I'm in the UK where it's more expensive than the mainland and even when using the RRP or close to it (£12 per ship, £25 for large ships and £25 for core) the total for your lot comes to less than £200. I can't see where you get the 264 EUR from, and it doesn't have anything to do with how cheap they are in the US - you're grossly overvaluing these. Going to any Amazon in Europe will net the entire collection for significantly less and all new without any of the associated fees.

Sorry, but it sounds you're trying to con someone into buying this off you. Is your stuff even in English?

This wasn't a thread about giving me advises or trying to ruin it for me. It was actually pretty simple. If you where interested let me know. If not, then don't bother. Happily I just got a buyer so it is now sold. He also thought it was cheap and was happy to save some money. He wasn't a newbie but needed a couple more ships of every model.

I might not have looked up EVERY SINGLE online store I'm the Uk but what I have found was the prices I have stated.

Last time I try to sell anything in the X-wing forum with people trying to make you look like a liar or scammer.

Congrats on Sale!

Yeah this is probably a bad place to try to sell though you did sell it all here...maybe just try going directly to Ebay or BoardGeek. :)

And just for the record, here's a link to a random Nordic online shop.

The currency is in NOK but if you plot it through a valuta page you can see that my price was right. No con in any way.

We'll miss you!

Sorry to hear that you think the community was harsh and unfair. I'm swedish and know for a fact that EVERYTHING is overpriced in norway. Thats why almost every norwegian tends to do trips to sweden for shopping. But you can't blaim the rest of the world for not knowing this :)

For example we can compare the Price of Falcon and one X-wing between Norwegian and Swedish prices. We are nighbouring countries and from my home town I have less then 20 swedish miles to the the Norwegian border:

Falcon Norwegian price 259 NOK = 25.20 GBP = 41.09 USD

X-wing Norwegian price 129 NOK = 12.55 GBP = 20.47 USD

Falcon Swedish Price: 189 SEK = 17.77 GBP = 28.98 USD

X-Wing Swedish price: 109 SEK = 10.25 GBP = 16.71 USD

As you can see from my listed webprices Nowgian webprices are WAY over the top and I can understand people whining before they know all the facts about norway beeing one of the most expensive countries in Europe to live in.

I've been in Norway a few times and I still remember the horror when we stopped to buy pizza...

120 SEK for a simple Pizza and Coke. 120 SEK = 17.77 GBP = 18.40 USD

I'd like to see the american willing to pay almost 20 bucks for a pizza and a coke :o )

Happy to see you getting your things sold though and for a price you found fair.

Well, in NYC, a single slice is typically ~5 bucks, and a full pizza ~25 bucks. And I'm talking about Sbarro, not some fancy place. Otherwise, if you're looking at a non-chain pizza place (read, not pizza hut / papa johns / etc) it's probably a good 15 bucks for a pizza. Then add in 2-3 bucks for a coke... and if you're eating in, a 15% tip, and 6% tax, and you easy got your 20 bucks.
