Had to go look that one up, its like mortal strike in a way. Actually not to bad of a card. Feline spike is still going to be a ***** though even with that card, just gonna put my head in the sand and pretend spike doesnt exist.

Yeah but even Spike got some counters like Undisputed Ruler.

Jealously Guarded Secret is an obv bitter Counter.

Sooo many good attacks in this set.

I don't see how people don't think it is going to effect anything -_-

Ok here are some of the reasons I believe set 12 is gonna change the meta.

--Defender loops are basiaclly dead now. Here are just some of the cards that stop it.

Sa, symbol of ppretection

Stand off

Immovable object

Ka tecnique

controller of souls

--Order will have to think twice about commiting stuff against decks with Torn hero and perfect sense of balance

--Rashotep shuts down chun li, rock howard (insert card here)...

-control decks wont have all day to build against fire, death and evil agro

I want to see "the order deck" survive against the death donovan deck thats running around my meta. Look up shreding Vibrato...then go look at donovan...ya thats good stuff.

This right here. Yeah. This. No, not the other thing. This.

The reason why Order was just getting it's sexy on this whole time is because it was given all the time it needed to do so. Typically, an Order deck probably takes 3 turns to get out what it needs to survive for some time, and then maybe the 4th or 5th turn is the proverbial Point of No Return for the opposing deck.

When Chun-li came out, despite the fact that she is fast, she requires incredibly specific cards in her Air build in order for the kill condition to be fufilled (Specifically Natural Leader and Lord of the Makai). She wasn't fast enough to completely dominate Order, and that was shown at the regional that Jon Herr won with his Donovan build.

Now, if you look at a symbol like Fire, you can literally list out SEVERAL different ways for a Fire deck to achieve a solid win condition. And all of those methods can be fit into one deck EASILY (kinda what I'm trying to accomplish with the current fire build I desire). A good deck that's fun and competitive will be able to kill you in many different ways-something we didn't have when we all made the premature jump to Block 3. It was basically Two kill conditions (Defender and/or Feline Spike splashed) in an order deck with a crap load of commit effects More or less, if you watch an aggro deck in action now, I can guarantee you that you'll not often see the same exact Staging area and Killing attack in the span of a best 2 out of 3.

And Sol, the reason why people are being so pessimistic is that they are reflecting on how much of a downward spiral Block 2 was, and are not giving Block 3 the chance to show them it's moves. Yes, I made a Captain Falcon reference.

i think this set turns fire from a low tier symbol to one of the best symbols in the game. agro is back in a big way.

thats why i traded mine for for ultra rares and one rare from the new set and i did not really like it

Calming the Mind will hopefully slow down Feline Spike decks to the point where you can dump Blood Stained Fate, King of Fighters 2006, or other momentum control down to put a lock on the momentum generation.

Calming the Mind, if uncontrolled, flat out stops Defender loops.

The sets overall are good. There are some standout highs, but the are some low points too. You cannot expect every set to have nothing but good cards. Yes they are gonna make some worthless junk that will get tossed in a box and never looked at again, it happens. You gotta look at the positives of the set. My only complaints are the new rarity markings not being consistent or standardized between the sets, and the foiling is awesome in Shadowar and sub-par in Soul Calibur, but that's just a little OCD kicking in. I got 10 UR's from each of my boxes... way to go FFG for keeping it's promise of more UR's in a box. I didn't even get all 4 Shadowar characters in my box, it was spectacular... and I collect character cards, so I was hoping for at least 1 or each. But comparing it to last release, where my box had 3 Terrys, 2 Rock Howard, 2 Geese Howards, and 1 of everyone else except a few, I am a happy player. Kudos to James and the FFG crew.

Honestly I think this set was very, very needed...

Order got the 'resistance' it needed I think.
