I love Ewoks

By DanteRotterdam, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I like the Ewoks, too. Accept it or not, Star Wars will always need a couple spoonfuls of 'cute' to be Star Wars. There are lots of quality movies out there that are just for grown-ups. Star Wars shouldn't be among them.

I feel the same about Jar Jar; sure, some of his gags tanked, but without him, The Phantom Menace would have fallen extremely flat for the little ones. My son was born in '99 and he always liked Jar Jar (I said nothing about the character's general reception, because I wanted him to be able to enjoy or not enjoy the character on its own merits). And enjoy him, he did. I confess it kind of bummed me out, years later, when he 'learned' that 'everyone hates Jar Jar', and 'Jar Jar is for babies'.

I guess I'm at least thankful that the adults around me, back in '77, didn't feel the need to tell me that R2-D2, the Jawas, and mouse droids were 'for babies'...

Was that from the real original RotJ or one of the updates? ;)

Who gives? Why do you need to be 'right' so badly anyway?

I was curious. There's not even a right-wrong dichotomy to this conversation anyway. You seem to be reading into it way deeper than is necessary.

I didn't start that ish though.

I just never remember hearing about them being "exported." You'd think if that was the case, Leia might have heard of them before.

so you think a noble family, a princess, would be well versed in slavery when she grew up on a planet where it was illegal?

I'd think an anti-EMpire activist might know more about which species are being enslaved and exploited than the average person. It's likely Endor was erased from the galactic charts early on in the Empire though, just like Honoghr and Kamino.

when between loosing her home-world, moving to Hoth, leaving Hoth, rescuing her bf, and going to Endor, should she have learned that the local populace on Endor are Ewoks and others?

Also the empire doesn't enslave Ewoks, corporations enslave Ewoks, it's not something that would be on the republics recommended reading list.

oh and how does C3PO know how to speak Ewok, if someone hadn't learned to speak it and then program it into C3PO's head?

I think Ewoks are great. I played one in Saga edition.

Why are Ewoks great? Well, how many AT-ST walkers can you and your friends defeat? One? Two? I doubt that. But for the Ewoks' superior anti-mech capabilities, it's no problem. ,

They have more parasites per square inch of fur than any other species. Vermin.
