Results from damaged book that was shipped

By Drathen, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So MM sent my new copy of Suns..needless to say im not happy with the results. The book they sent was damaged again on the bottom corner( looks like someone literally dropped it or hit it agains the wall where the corner is smashed in . Im so mad about it. You guys might have no issues with them but be careful when ordering from them. This was my first and last time odering from them. Im sorry i like my books in mint,,,it may not bother you guys im sure it does to some but this is just bad business. Rant done.

my previous post on the forums from the first issue I posted.

I'd send it back again.

My friends and I have literally bought over $20,000 worth of stuff from MM with no problems. Mostly 40k stuff and everything that has come out for EotE.

Just call them back and they will take care of it. It really is a shame that they aren't to blame. The post office is who you should be mad at, unless it was packaged in a paper baggy.

Actually they ship from a warehouse. Its not the post offices fault since the book was damaged prior to shipping. It was wrapped and the had air cushions in the box. no way it was going to get damaged like the 1st one they sent. So actually they really are to blame.

I can take a picture of the box if you like :) since I still have that. They do great shipping but apparently they dont mind shipping damaged items.

I don't blame you for being pissed. Raise hell.

It sucks it's damaged, but they probably received it that way. I have ordered a ton of stuff from them, and I am always super impressed with their packaging. They literally wrap books like 10 times in paper.

I'd just call them again if you are unhappy with the condition. I totally understand, as I hate paying full price for a damaged item.

I get your frustration Drathen, but I find most of the time customer service (with any business), will go out of their way to find you a mint replacement for any damaged product. This doesn't just apply to FFG. That's good business sense. Maybe, as you suggested, the packer accidentally dropped it. Maybe they didn't notice the damage, or got distracted and grabbed from the wrong (bad) pile. Your anger might be pointed in the wrong direction, or over an honest mistake... then again it may not be. I just tend to give benefit of the doubt. You being through your second book though... i can see where you wouldn't.

Thanks for your input guys as always! Yeah im going to see what can be done. :)

I'm sure they'll take care of you.

I've not cracked 20K, but I've ordered quite a bit from them and have been happy every time. They even sent me a wrong SW mini once and let me keep it after sending me the right one.

Drathen, you keep rolling these Despair results!

Change your dice. All gamers know some dice are cursed.

OMG no kidding lol. Funny thing was is that I was waiting for you to comment about it lol.

Are you kidding me? If you're that anal-retentive about how "mint" your books are, may I suggest buying them in-store, where you can look at the condition of the book before you buy it? Wait, let me guess: you're 50 miles from anywhere that sells books.

That book isn't even in bad condition. You're wasting your time as well as the company's and costing them money unnecessarily.

That's nonsense. There are no superstitions in gaming. Mind you, if you try and roll my dice, I'll break your ******* arm - just keep that in mind and we'll be all good. But that's just dice attuned to my biorhythms and not anything to do with superstitions. Nothing at all.

He paid for a new book. He should get an undamaged book.

My 35 year old copy of the AD&D DMG is in better shape than that book.

If it was me, I'd be furious.

It's a scientifically-proven fact.

Like midichlorians.

lol!! wow really. You must really be bored to rant and rave over something thats not even affecting you.

Yeah, I do like my books in mint, just as well much as all the others in these forums. I work hard for my money and when I spend it on a "new" item, i expect it to be sent in such fashion. I dont think thats anal retentive. I have never had an issue getting anything in mint before from any other place like coolstuff.com or any place else I shop online from. If its any of your **** business, which its not, I actually work 53 hours a week so no I dont have alot of time to shop in store...I do think theres a thing called the internet though so I can actually shop online to get what I need...who would have thought of doing that. /rolleyes

Dunno imo doesn’t look that bad my books from MM came fine to my door I'm just not as picky about my books since I use them when I need to the back to their stack for the next game. Dunno just not a big deal to me unless you are looking to keep these as collectors items and need a mint book in that case...order directly from FFG'S site.

I wouldnt have been so annoyed with the book, however this from the first one I got from them like I mentioned in my first post

After complaining about it, I would have assumed they send me a non damaged one...but guess not.

I could order from FFG, however getting a discount from another site is nice. Ill just go back to coolstuff.com is all since I nvr had issues with them.

I use coolstuff inc.com a few time while buying minatures MM was the only store to have a specific miniature and the said "new" when I got them the miniatures where scratched, damaged and some had been repainted. I did get a full refund however.
