FFG customer service

Yes I am inserting properly.

Well you must be doing something wrong then, since you're breaking so many.

I've been able to fix a lot of my pegs when they start cracking by putting some liquid super glue around the area where the cracks are and twisting it while holding my fingers around the glue. You get some on your fingers, but you force the glue into the cracks and seal them up. You can restore a loose connection the majority of the time this way.

They're really great! I got a B-wing where one of the cannons fell off my first time playing with it and they sent me a new model no questions asked. Now I can paint the broken one up as space debris!

I had a similar experience. One of the guns on one of my B-wings seemed pretty brittle. The first time it broke off, I simply super-glued it. But it didn't last and when it broke off again, I lost it. FFG has my replacement B-wing in the mail right now. Super great customer service.

It's not just him, it's also me and both other players I know (yeah, I only have two cool friends :( ). I'm surprised it's not everybody to be honest - my friends and I are quite careful, bordering on OCD, with our toys, so if they break for us I'd have thought they'd break for everyone.

Maybe it's a case of different stocks going to different places? Where are people based? I'm i the UK and I find my pegs break very easily.

I know the most common way they break is people trying to rotate the models slightly when they're off-center on the base slightly. Drives a lot of people (myself included) nuts, but the way the pegs slot in, even a tiny bit of trying to twist it so the ship is facing straight can crack the plastic of the pegs.

I am UK based and I haven't broke any and to my knowledge no one in my club has broke any. So nothing to do with the stock

Weird! Seriosly, we're really not rough with them, I don't understand it at all.

Could be a diffrent lot issue. Many plastics are a blend of different types. Just a few % diffrent materal or a couple degrees variance and it would change the properties of the finished product.

In the UK too and no breakages so far, one peg is pretty weakened though. So where are the breaks typically occurring (top or bottom) and are they instant or gradual?

I've found the large ships most at risk of a potential break, despite the thicker peg. It feels flimsy.

I had the peg on one of my X wings crack, and while it would stay on the stand, I couldn't lift the mini to move it around on the table during play. I saw some people had replaced their pegs with magnets, so I figured I'd give this a try, but it didn't work as I had hoped, and the model rotated too freely. So I decided to contact FFG asking for a replacement peg that I could glue onto the model, but they wouldn't do anything without a picture. Which of course I didn't have.

Moral of the story - before you attempt a home repair, take a picture of the problem beforehand. That way, if the repair doesn't go according to plan, you can submit a request to FFG.

Also, I ended up taking a peg and cutting it off just above the female end of the connector, sanding it flat, and then gluing that onto my X wing. New peg! Now it works just fine! I suggest that you put it on a stand if you're going to do this so you can make sure that it glues on straight.

This doesn't bode well for my submission. I didn't include a picture but last week I sent a message saying the base of my slave I was warped. Seems like a lot of work to take a picture to get a replacement base and I'm not sure if you will be able to tell all that well that the base is warped. Waiting for response from them. Typically how long do they take to respond?

My request was rejected the following day for not having pictures attached.

I contacted FFG about one of my TIE fighters that has a misaligned wing. I sent a couple of photos with a ruler measuring the misalignment and they are putting one in the mail for me this week.

Exceptional service.

I have no hesitation about buying anything from them considering the level of customer service.

I had a question about a translation error for the german version. I mailed FFG directly and got a response from James Kniffen himself, even tho i should have mailed the german localization company (Heidelberger Verlag). He also forwarded my mail and I got a second reply from the german guys. Crazy how they care about their game.

PS: The translation error was already fixed in newer prints.

Mine was an auto reply stating it was received but nothing since then.

Try to submit it again, this time with the warped base pic. The reason for the pic is to verify the condition of your piece so people do not just request extra parts and not really need them. Be polite in your correspondence and it will get you further than a nasty note.

i have had issues with lots of pegs cracking - just through normal usage. Yes i know they only go in one way, they are shaped to fit one way and not rotate, so its not been me shoving them in any old way.

it is only the small pegs, not the larger ones.

i submitted my referal to customer services, but didn't bother with a photo as they are too small to get a decent pictur of without a decent camera....

will see what happens.

Well in was wrong... Apparently they want photos that I can't actually take... :(

Out of curiosity for those who have ship models replaced, do they send the actual model in the mail or a completely new expansion pack? I don't need anything replaced but was just wondering as I'm assuming the model is the majority of the cost of an expansion pack so wonder if it's easier for them to send a new one rather than package a seperate model in the mail.

With my B-Wing it was just the model. Came in a plastic baggie, wrapped in bubble wrap, in a small box.

I sent another message to FFG about my warped Slave I base, this time I attached a picture.
