Yodas

By Hakon, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

There seem to be a LOT of characters and creatures that appear on screen in Star Wars and we know next to nothing about them. Many we know even less about than we do Yoda.

In my opinion Boba Fett was a lot cooler when we didn't know anything about him or Mandalorians in general. I don't want the same thing to happen to Yoda.

i kinda wish he was the only one, actually (or, specifically, the only we know of)

Putting Yaddle into ep 1 was wierd.

Oh, I missed that. Can anyone point me to around the time frame for me to look?

This, for me. As other have said, the likelihood is that it would be done badly, and even if it wasn't, the results would mostly be disappointing (if people were expecting 6 Force Dice as a racial power or something).

'Pulling back the curtain' (as Chortles said) was one of the worst crimes of the prequels. There was no great clamour to see an uncool version of Vader, or baby Boba Fett, and doing so damaged their mystique.

I felt that about all the EU stuff regarding the cantina aliens. At first, I thought it was great that someone had given them all a backstory. Then it started to damage verisimilitude that everyone there that night was a secret agent or mass murderer or rebel spy or whatever. I'd sooner not know.

Plus... 'midichlorians'.

Less is sometimes more.,

I don't mean to be nasty, but somehow that seems overpowered and underwhelming at the same time...

Kudos for trying, but I don't think statting them will please anybody. I can see Force-sensitive races being a real sticking point for people.

I'd have called them chazzwazzers.

Haha! Is it sad that i get that? :)

(One of my friends just said: 'What do Star wars and the Simpsons have in common? They both used to be good...')

i liked the prequel back story, especially boba and jango, i thought the acting was bad by most, the casting for annikin in all 3 was wrong, and keeping it kid friendly ruined the message to an extent, but the underlying tale was good.

portman was great, but the way she died was pretty lame, i would have had palpatine assassinate her a year or 2 after the birth, giving leia a chance to remember her mums unhappiness.

boba could have been shown as more a of a proficient kid and less of a +1.

annikin shouldn't have been so whiney and lame, he needed to be played by a pro like christian bale or similar.

and there was no need for a comic relief like jarjar, if that gungan captain had of been the local tag along the movie would have been more interesting.

so i short making a movie kid friendly and poor acting is what hurts episodes 1-3, but the movies as a whole are still good.

i don't believe disney will ruin the next 3, and i believe they would do a YS race justice.

especially since the guy who sped up star trek to make it interesting is at the reigns.
