Remember in 1st ed, when we could create our own heroes? I would love to see that make a come back. While we are at it I also would like to see create a monster that we can add into the quest vault. That way we can create some of our favorite monsters, or conditions (that was mentioned in another thread) to share with the community.
Characters/Monsters
It's cool idea but I like having the official figures for the game.
I wonder how it worked when they implemented it last time...
That being said I have a list of monsters I'd like to see in the game!
I think the do-it-yourself sheets for heroes was released after descent 1st edition went off the grid, to give hardcore fans the possibility of keeping the game new and diversive.
my guess is, that we ll see something like that for descent 2nd edition, when ffg is done throwing out expansions and creating charakters themselves.

Agreed. If they release an official character creation guide, they will either be limited to using it or have to deal with people saying "You didn't use this thing, so this hero is too strong/weak."
There is an unofficial character creation guide on board game geek obviously an official one would be preferable, but atleast there are options!
I personally like picking from a limited supply, it prevents min/maxing a partys stats so there is always some sort of comprimise a group needs to make that the overlord can prey on. My latest group i am overlording has for instance very low strength which i plan to use to my advantage.
With a creation kit the group could easily have 1 of each party member with 5 in one stat each which would be a bit unrealistic and powergameish.
I am all for powergaming and min/maxing but i feel this has the potential to take that too far.
