Datapad template

By Ebak, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hey all! I'm a brand new roleplayer and aspiring GM. I'm currently looking to send out a newsletter every week to my players essentially recapping what happened in the last session, trivia segments etc.

I was hoping to get a datapad style template that I could use to make the newsletter, similar to the character sheets which OggDude's Character Generator creates.

Does anyone have any they can give me or recommend?

I did a google image search and I came up with a few things.

I also have the one from the character sheets from the beginner box that someone almost completely cleaned up, but I don't know if that would be against the rules to post here.

I used Inkscape to open the PDF for one of the basic game's downloadable characters, then just grabbed the background image. Nobody's complained so far. If they do, I'll just grab some other background to use :)

Use a ST:TNG datapad picture, see how long until they notice. :)

Hey guys I was messing around with the one I had that someone had already messed with. The biggest problem was it still had the words Sasha's Story at the top. It's not perfect, but I managed to get rid of them.

Hopefully I'm not violating any rules by posting this. If I am I'll gladly remove it.

So how would someone with very little computer experience and nothing but whatever programs are included on an out of the box home computer (yeah I'm talkin about me here) go about using these awesome sheets?

I recommend getting gimp (it's free and it works well). Learn how to make Layers by watching or reading some tutorials, and then just add some text on your new layer. Then rotate the layer so that the text is angled right. It's not super complicated once you get familiar with how the program works.

so you are new to rp AND GMing?! wow, hats off to you, this is a lot of work.

...i want to play in your game!
