Vipers attacking civilian ships

By Wedge1126, in Battlestar Galactica

Can an unrevealed cylon player activate a viper (with Command or manning a viper) to attack a civilian ship? I don't see the rule that prevents this, but it seems too powerful. Imagine Starbuck with two Maximum Firepower cards in a space with 8 civies. sorpresa.gif

I don't think so...otherwise the cylon piloted viper could also shoot down other vipers, and that's walking down a dark and dirty road

As a matter of fact, it says so explicitly in the rules. A viper may never attack a civilian ship.

I was hoping that I just missed the rule in the book. Could you tell me what page it's on? Thanks.

Oh, I see. Page 25:

" Attack with a Viper: The player chooses a viper and a
Cylon ship that are in the same space area..."

So you must select a Cylon ship to attack. Thanks guys.

Not right now - and FFG took down the manual. If I recall correctly, however, it should be under the Viper activation explanations.

EDIT: There you go. :)
