So recently the thread about 150 point lists I had an idea to ride Expose. This is the list I thought of on the drive into work this morning, and it actually really intrigues me.

Wedge + Expose + R2D2 + Shield Upgrade

Garven

Biggs

Jan Ors + Blaster Cannon Turret + Recon Specialist

Roark + Blaster Cannon Turret + Recon Specialist

So I can see Roark making Garven fire at PS12, using his focus, which jumps to Wedge, who when in RB1 rolls 6 dice + focus -1 agility to both his target and himself.

Throw in a target lock there and you can probably see some 6 damage shooting rounds. Could totally brutalize Space Bus lists rocking that 1 agility monstrosity.

Biggs can go out there and tank for Wedge, and then even when using Expose after Biggs is space dust, Wedge should last a little. Especially if I can get Garven and Wedge to focus direct threats to Wedge.

Any thoughts?

I love that you are trying out Expose. Trying to find a way to make a much maligned upgrade work. I haven't found my love for the HWK-290. They are good support ships, but I want my support ships to be better able to pull their own weight.

I have found that expose works well with Kath Let the innuendo's commence!

Hmm never thought of it with Kath.

One thing I'll say - math indicates that F+TL > TL+Ex or F+Ex. As such, you need to get a TL on Wedge too. Lando or Dutch come to mind. I tried out a similar list awhile ago at 100 points that used Ibby instead of Wedge.

Ibby w/ Expose

Dutch w/ Ion + APT

Jan w/ SL + Ion + Nien

Ibby can Expose as her action, Dutch hands her a free TL, Jan uses SL to give her a free action, which she'll use to F. Jan hands her an extra attack die, so she's rolling 6 dice on a R1 attack. Dutch has an APT to use (with Jan for a turn) at 6 dice to light someone up, and as such also act as a "taunt" and focus the attacks on killing dutch first. Or at least that was the plan. It failed miserably.. partially because once Ibby was dead, the list didn't have any fire power. Also because it's a 3 ship list. And once one of them dies, the rest of the list falls apart.

Note - expose only works on primary attacks. As such, there is no way to get 7 attack dice right now. Expose can put it up to 5, Jan can put it up to 5, 6 if stacked. And APT + Jan is 6. At some point, opportunist will come into play, and put it up at 5, 6 stacked with Jan. But since you can't stack opportunist with expose, you'll never have 7.

Expose only works on your Primary weapon. Not sure how you get 7 Dice on that...

3 + range 1 + Jan + Expose = 6 ...which is still pretty devastating however...

Yeah, but you were at the receiving side of those 6 dice, and it didn't really phase you that much.

It's the one rare time the luck of the dice were in my favor...
