Newbie needs advice

So i've been playing for a month or so and would consider myself a novice table top gamer,tried a few builds out and like using imperials.Today i went with vader+concussion missiles+marksmanship,soontir fel+push the limit and maarek stele+veteran instincts+cluster missiles.I was against ten numb B wing,dagger B wing and dutch vander Y wing all with ion turrets.I did fairly well but still lost,does anyone have any views on my build and what i can do to improve it?

The build was a sound one the problem you ran into was three ion turrets. Or as I like to call them "imperial Bane" turrets. They wreak Imperial builds buy making you an easy target, plus B-wings down right nasty firepower. Adding defense to your ties in the form of Stealth devices might reduce the number of Ion hits your squadron takes. Also in games where you know you might be running across more than one ion turret/cannon a Stealth/Push the Limit combo is in order for that evade token plus focus for defense. Or atleast that's how I try to deal with Ion Rebs.

I'm sure you have VI on Maarek (congrats on trying to use him) so he's up there with PS 9 like the other big boys but he is one of the few ships where I think Marksmanship could be interesting. This is even more true when Cluster Missiles are involved as those are TWO attacks where each of them could benefit from Marksmanship. If the first two managed to chew through a B-Wing's shield nailing one with a Marksmanship enhanced Cluster Missile could let Maarek look at six cards with the B-Wing getting handed two of them.

Maybe you were pushing hard for initiative by only using 98 points but I'd consider Squad Leader on Vader so he could pass an action off to Maarek allowing him to TL/Marksmanship on a ship which should mean a [crit] result which you get to pick.
