So, I've picked up a HWK-290 and I'm torn between what I feel are the best two named pilots the ship has to offer- Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors. Which of them offers more to a list that is running 3 Blue Squadron Pilots? The builds I've been looking at for each of them are:

1. Kyle Katarn- Squad Leader, Blaster Turret, Recon Specialist, Moldy Crow- 33 pts

What do you guys think? Has anyone run both of these support pilots? Do they mesh well with a trio of B-wings in the first place? I'm currently leaning towards Jan, because I just envision Kyle with a massive pile of focus and nothing special to do with them (aside from sharing one a turn).

Jan is awesome, but I would consider Nien Numb so you can clear stress quicker.

Yes, I was tempted by that, but then she passes the 33 pt mark, which makes it easier to get a modified win against me in a tourney (I think? Lol).

I think Nien is worth it. Also I like Jan in your B-Wing squad. I would take determination and Nien over squad leader. If not that then Swarm Tactics. She will probably be the first target so I would not want to give up her action by giving it to someone else. She wants to focus whenever she can to help with defense if needed.

I love Jan, but given the B-wing's tendency to stress itself out during the chase I think Kyle feeding them focus is the better option overall in this instance.

And Kyle sitting on a big pile of focus won't be a problem once he starts using that blaster turret or getting shot at.

I always end up going for Kyle for the focus hand outs.

I think Roark is the best HWK pilot. Cheaper than Jan or Kyle (though only PS4 instead of 6/8). Plus his ability doesn't "hurt" him at all. Jan has to get a stress for hers, and Kyle is giving up one of his focus tokens. Plus Roark can always do his ability, whereas Jan has to be stress free, and Kyle has to have at least 1 focus token available.
