A scenario I have been working on.

A scenario I have been working on.

My family is coming to visit and it has become a tradition to play some kind of large board/miniatures game when all the guys get together. It is X-wings turn this visit and my brother and I have worked out a large scenario game that seems like it will be a lot of fun. It will end up being wither 2v2 or 3v3 depending on who all plays. The basic idea was to have a lot going on at once with a lot of ships while trying to keep a few of the extra rules on the low side to facilitate a faster game. To do this we decided to do squads of unnamed ships led by an “ace” pilot.

The basic scenario is an imperial convoy and a rebel convoy accidently bump into each other. Each force will be made up of four parts. The transports, the escorts, the strike, and the intercept squads. The squads will be at the bottom of the post.

Set up:

We will play on a much larger than standard board. Either 4x4 or maybe 4x5. Each team will set up on their edge of the board. We will put out a handful of asteroids to keep things interesting. And in the center between the deployment zones of the battlefield offset to one side will be a satellite marker.

Objectives: To win your team needs to win two of three victory conditions:

VC1: One point for every friendly transport you successfully get across the board (their hyperspace jump points). One point for every enemy transport destroyed before it can escape to hyperspace. Whoever has the most VC1 points at the end of the game wins VC1.

VC2: One point for each turn you have a ship within range three of the satellite marker with no enemy ships within range three of the satellite. (Hacking into the spy satellite). Whoever has the most VC2 points at the end of the game wins VC2.

VC3: Whoever kills the most points of enemy ships at the end of the game wins VC3.

We will probably set a time limit (not really sure how long) when we will end the game assuming one side has not destroyed the other.

Thanks for your time.
