A 2nd x wing is good! More pilots means more choice! ( the x wing expansion contains other pilots than the core set x wing)
Edited by petercooman123Welcome aboard. The first thing I want to say is to fly well together aka stay in formation ships movment dials should be similar and the best ship to mirror an X-wing is another X-wing. I am sure you were not wanting to hear that. Pick up another core or an X-wing expansion pack....but if you want something diffrent maybe a Y-wing or the Falcon would be a good second.
B wing would also be a good ship. If I was to buy the minimum number of ships to have a good 100 point list, I'd probably go with X (core) X (exp) Y, B. Especially if you're okay proxying cards (I'm looking at you PTL and AdvS)
I'm pretty much a Rebel noob too, but I found multiple X-Wings are a great place to start. I like the Y-Wings also just for the durability factor, and this weekend I'm going to fool around with some A-Wing squads, as they match up alright against the base TIE Fighters. Depends on who you're playing too I guess.

If there is a ship that interests you, then pick that up.
Otherwise, I'd agree that a 2nd X-wing is the way to go as you'll eventually want it anyway for the other pilots (Wedge!) and cards. The most often recommended 2nd purchase here is a 2nd core set. Nice, cost effective way to get extra sets of everything, but if you're really just looking to add one ship and don't have a preference, go with the X-wing.
Edited by AlexWLike others have said, get what you want. All the ships are good. At some point your going to want one of each, and actually at some point you'll want like 4 of each (see signature)!
Pshaw! Why would you need more than one ship in this game?

I like to recommend the Y-wing, as it plays very differently from the X-wing, and adds a unique and interesting game mechanic in the ion token, and is pretty easy to fly as a beginner. B-wing is a good choice too but it doesn't really add anything really interesting n its own compared to the X-wing. A-wings are fun, but the most difficult rebel ship to use effectively.
Y-wing. You already have an xwing. You'll probably want to pick up an x-wing expansion pack, like someone said, just because you get more pilots and droids. But I'll also say that the y-wing a different kind of ship that is very different from the x-wing and very fun. If you play small 30 point games, Y-wing.
You've got the core set and are looking to add one more Rebel ship? You can pick pretty much anything although I don't recommend the HWK as your second ship. The X-Wing expansion gets you more pilots which could also sit in your core set X-Wing if desired. Getting a Falcon would be the biggest push you could get towards what is considered a "standard" 100 point squad although you almost certainly want a third ship for that.
You want another Rebel ship but who are you playing against and what kind of games are you playing? If you are looking for another rebel ship so you have two to fly against the two TIE Fighters from the Core set you are really putting those TIEs at a severe disadvantage. If you're just flying against your own Imperials then you should probably pick up another Core Set so you also get a couple more T/F to help keep things "fair" although three TIE's vs. two X-Wings may also work in some cases.
