hi guys and gals, ive just joined these forums when i found that the 4th ed was revamped by FFG and that already there is a addon plus one on the way..so merrily i went to purchase both of these, but to my dismay all the items are on back order. so my question is this, WHEN will i be able to purchase both of these again? As this is the only game i found my girlfriend actually likes to play (know know how rare that is!!!
) Thanks for your time to reading this and posting any responses!! Cheers..
Back orders!!!
Depending on where you live there are still copies of the game or upgrades available in shops or on eBay for instance. Good luck in your quest!
I was so excited to learn about Talisman being available through FFG!!
Then I tried to order...
I too am dismayed by the lack of Talisman material to actually purchase. I have the last Games Workshop version. I was hoping to pick up FFG's verison and the expansions. It is clear from the website that the rules changed.
To find my ideal purchases already out of stock with no plans to release more just gives my a sour first experience. . .
I'll look through this forum for explanation of the differences. I really hope the two versions are readily compatible without the upgrade pack.
Right now my business with FFG is limited.
lucky for me i found both the upgrade and the expansion via ebay Woot!! now i got to wait 6 to 8 weeks
))))
I found the main game and reaper expansion on amazon.com
I got the dungeons expansion from FFG.
Try looking on Amazon
You guys are joking right? There are copies all over the internet for purchase and it is in stock at game shops all over the place. I bought mine for under $40 on the net just a few weeks ago.
Thought Hammer has it.
There are links to E-bay on the Boardgame geek site that have it.
I see the Black edition fro $30 USA and the FFG upgrade for $15 on some sites.
It is likely that FFG does not have any because the retailers and other sellers have them and won't order more until they sell what they have.
Come on you young 21st century, computer savy kids. If this old man born in the B.C.s can find a dozen copies in 5 minutes then you can too!
Well here in Germany it was also kind of hard to get my hands on a copy of the upgrade pack ... fortunatly I finaly got it ... but I´m still missing the reaper Expansion ...
I feel rather disappointed with Fantasy Flight. I have the Black Industries version of the game and was all keen to get the upgrade pack but due to FFG delays very few made it to Australian shores. Now they are not going to reprint them is rude. I really enjoy Talisman but am not going to rebuy the thing and waste money on something I already have. This follows to say that I will not be buying the expansions because of it hence no money for fantasy flight.
This rant will go unnoticed by the company because what do they care about a single customer. I thought the licensing was going to good hands, i was wrong.

Maybe you must be happy that you have not get the upgrade pack.
You do not get everything with the upgrade pack. You can better buy the whole revised edition again.
I think that people must not complain about that they have the black gates version. FGG has made their own versions, and it is already kind of them tp make a upgrade pack for that. But again... not everything is included...
All I have to say it...Amazon, Piazo, Thoughthammer.
Were I live there are no hobby game stores. Not one. Not even a store that dabbles in anything beyond Magic the Bothering. I either drive 1 or more hours to a city that might have something I want or order on line. Even the major city that hosts GenCon seems unaware of most things that are not GW or Euros.
My other challenge is getting people to try something that is not D&D (insert regularly released edition here) or Risk.

Dude, you gotta do some research before you cry wolf. At the bottom of this page it is very clearly indicated that FFG is currently reprinting Talisman (revised fourth edition), The Reaper expansion, and The Upgrade pack! You can't fault the company for selling out of stock.
FFG will continue to produce base copies and back expansions as long as they own and support the game. The Upgrade Pack is the one expansion they may not keep in print forever because the Black Industries version is permanently out of print. There is a limited number of Upgrade kits that could ever be needed. I advise you get one soon.
It's up to you of course, but you complaints are uncalled for. FFG is a great company and we arwe lucky they have taken Talisman under their wholly supportive wing.
Ah, thank you crimhead. I will retract my vicious rant against this company. I appoligise. I was under fulse pretences about the product; one of the pages had that it will not be reprinted. Now that is not the case I can be confident again in Fantasy Flight Games.
I enjoy the games they have so I didnt want to be angry for to long. Also sorry if I offended anyone on this forum.

I for one, actually appreciate you writing this. I had to bite my tongue (fingers?) to not respond to your first post. I have already posted a few times responding to people saying that they were upset because FFG was sold out and I have repeatedly pointed out that you can basically find everything on the internet and at a certain point I feel like I am writing repeats.
I think we are really lucky that FFG picked up the franchise. I don't know how many game companies would even care enough about people who bought a different version from a DIFFERENT GAME COMPANY to actually take the time to design and produce the upgrade pack. I think right there that shows what kind of a comapny FFG is. A lot of companies would just say 'forget it, if you want our version you are paying full price'.
The sad part is, I am sure years from now, when the upgrade packs finally aren't being produced anymore there will be someone who will come here and knock FFG for not having the upgrade pack for sale anymore.
Well said and unfortunatly true
Cheers
