Can Draft packs be re-used?

By Swisherfan, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Just wondering for people who got to try draft out. Can the starters be put back together and the draft packs re-randomized without hurting game play? This would be similar to the Magic Cube for the boosters.

Thanks,
Chris

The starters are definitely reusable. The draft packs, not so much, because we don't know exactly how they're put together.

Yeah. To elaborate; since we're supposed to look at it by segments of 10 cards, we might assume they're printed as such, and that each set of 10 cards includes the equivalent of 1-2 rares, 3-4 uncommons, and 4-6 commons. Plot cards might show up more rarely, or might be an entirely "separate" pool.

So while you certainly can shuffle up the draft cards and play again, the experience will probably be different from what the designers intended, and tweaked their algorithms for. You'll also know exactly what cards are in 'your' cardpool, and be better able to build with them and counter them (eg, knowing there's no valar at all is an important piece of information).

Most people have been discussing writing down the order of cards in a given draft pack so that they can be reconstructed. This is mainly for those who do not want to buy many draft packs.
