The way they scored the rounds seemed weird. The first round was scored by how much of your opponents build points got removed from the table. The second round was scored by how many shield and hull points were stripped off your opponents ships. The third round was scored the same as the first. Is this how tourneys are normally scored or do they usually stick to build points removed or hull/shield points removed?

DEFINITELY NOT!

Scoring should be based on how many points of your opponent's fleet were destroyed based on total cost when deployed. This last part is to say that a Rookie with a Proton Torp is 25 points if destroyed and 0 points if not destroyed even if the torpedo was fired. If scoring counts all expended ordnance as "wins" for the other player that is also wrong.

That round two scoring is just messed up. An entire squadron of four Interceptors has less "hitpoints" than a named Falcon so the player that destroys those four fighters gets counted for less than one who only destroys a Falcon which is less than half of another teams points. There is a BIG problem with that scoring method because hull & shield only tell a very small part of the story.
