We had 8 players show. Squads (and placements) are as follows:

Marty:

Blue with AdvS and Engine
Gold with Ion Cannon Turret and R2 Astromech
Scimitar with Engine and Prox mine
Avenger with Stealth

My first round I faced Kailen. He had beaten me last week with his squad, so I dropped my BH in favor of a Rookie and a Scimitar so I could have a 5 ship list. With how he set up, I went after his ORS initially, while being able to mostly stay away from his BH. I focused down his ORS, at the cost of my rookie, I think. I managed to take out his AP, so he just had his Ywing and BH left. I was doing a good job staying in the BH blind spot with my ships. I killed his BH, then finished off his Ywing. I think I had 3 ships left, as he killed my AP. 1-0

My second game was against Sean. He tricked out his BH in a great way, so I knew I had to focus it down, which is what I did. I managed to kill it before it got its second shot off. His Ions were hitting me all game long. I then focused on the ORS. Flight Instructor saved him at least 2 hits, but with 5 ships and my hot dice, it wasn't long before the ORS was gone. Then I managed to corner his Grey and it was game over. 2-0

My third and final game was against Troy. His Alpha Squadron Pilot was the star of the game. First combat round I threw 12 focused dice at it and only managed to do 1 damage to it. I think I attacked it every single round, and it survived every shot until I only had my AP left, and my AP finally finished it off. But during that stretch, I flipped my bomber over a rock, critting myself. I drew the Stunned Pilot crit, and he managed to block me 3 times afterwards, so that put 3 more damage on my bomber. I took out his Bwing and his Xwing, but that damned Alpha just would not die, even when my focused Saber shot at it round after round, including Range 1 shots. The game ended with his BH finishing off my AP.

All in all it was a good time and a fun group to play with. Looking forward to more fun tourneys in the future. :)

I also took part in this tournament. This was actually my first tabletop tourney (currently competing in the Vassal tourney) since I only started since Nov. I came in 3rd (I'm Sean. Won't bother recapping lists since hothie posted them all in his post.).

My first game was against Marty. Unfortunately for him, luck just went against him the whole way (2nd round only the Avenger and the Grey had shots on each other with a rock in the way. End result... 2 hits vs 1 evade on 6 greens for the Avenger. Goodbye Stealth.). Game deciding moment came when he had his Blue boxed in (thus no AS barrel roll) and collided with my ORS while trying to K-turn. From there my Y-wing was able to ionize him every turn and because of the angle my ORS was at, he just kept doing a 1 forward to intentionally collide and not go anywhere and the B-wing was kept in the same spot turned away from the battle with stress for the rest of the game. By the time Marty was able to kill off my ORS to free the Blue, it only had 1 hull left and died before doing anything.

Second game was against hothie and his dice were HOT. As much as luck was with me in the first game, it was against me in the second. As he said, he went all out to take out my Firespray (even going so far as to PTL his Saber (and gaining stress) while in range of my Ion turret (of course, he then rolled 3 evades)). Once the Firespray went down while barely denting him, it was all downhill. The dice evened out late, but by then the game was already decided.

Final game was against Caleb. This was easily the closest game for me all day, as it could have gone either way for most of the game. The deciding point was when I dropped my Seismic in range of his A-wing, Firespray and Int (as well as my ORS). Next round I got a lucky shot to take out the Avenger. A few rounds later both our Firesprays took each other out at the same time, leaving the A-wing against an almost dead Y-wing & an almost full ORS.

Definitely enjoyed myself and was happy with how my list turned out. Unfortunately, I feel that the way the Pirate format is a bit limited, as even with just 8 people, Lynne was playing the same ships as I was and the first list I designed looks very similar to Troy's list (until I tested it against a friend and got crushed by his ions). Fun for an occasional variety, but only played on a rare occasion to keep it fresh.

Overall, a great start to the tournament season. Looking forward to the upcoming store championships.

Took part in the tournament as a first timer as well, and as Sean already noted, my sad little A-wing couldn't hold up to both a turreted Y and an ORS. It was definitely an exciting matchup and wholly different from my first round, despite the similar ships. While it wasn't surprising, the variance on A-wings and squints can really make or break it, and even a fully stealthed avenger with a rock between it and a YT can fall to crummy rolls.

Of course that won't stop me from running them - they're way too much fun!

My first round was similar to Sean's list but poor Lynne had some truly awful defensive rolls and after single round of shooting, her Firespray was all but toast. She'd managed to pin my Firespray with enough Ion tokens to keep it in place for most of the game, but some timely saves by the squint and eyeball kept it from smashing through an asteroid and its placement let it hit most of the board.

My matchup against Troy was....well, when they talk about hot dice I'm pretty sure they meant our game. In his defense, he'd just come off a skin-of-his-teeth win with some really terrible rolls so the dice were bound to favor him for round 2. The Master of Maneuvers definitely made me pay for my mistakes at just about every turn and at the end, he'd wiped all but my wounded Firespray off the map. All I could manage was to take out a measly Alpha before some poor maneuvering took my BH right off the edge.

I like to think the pilot just took his ball and went home, but with all those holes in the hull I doubt he made it....

Regardless the tournament was a ton of fun and the craziness of the Pirate lists really gave everyone a chance to try some fun combinations.

Looking forward to more tournaments in the future!

The tournament was a blast, we had a good turnout and everyone had fun.

My first round was against Dave and lets just say we both had really bad dice. We had to rush to finish the game so it wasn't a modified win for either of us. I thought I was in real trouble when I saw 3 sets of missiles and a APT. Luckily his dice were as bad as mine and I squeaked out a full win with 2 hull left on my BH.

1-0

Second round was against Caleb and my dice heated up and I was maneuvering really well. I manged to take out 2 of his ships quickly and then harassed the BH into making a aggressive turn to try and survive and he got to close to the edge.

2-0

Third round and what do you know its Hothie. My dice stayed hot and I flew pretty well, I managed to keep my squad together and concentrated fire to burn down his squad. The game should have been a lot closer but my dice really liked me and I think I was due since the last couple of tournaments Doug has got me.

3-0 for the championship and acrylic stress tokens, yea!!!!

Can't wait for the store championships and to see everyone from Kansas City and Omaha.

Well, I will give you my memories as well.

As stated, I flew against CommanderScrappy first. Yes, he feared my missiles. But considering that my Adv. Protons only scored 1 hit, I was not off to a good start. Halfway through the game, he remembered how I flew. We had a 3 turn bottleneck between 2 rocks, with his Firespray trying to push through.

Game 2 was against Lynn. She flew well. I got off some good hits and had my B-Wing chase down her Firespray. While our other ships began picking each other off, her Y-Wing came from behind my B-Wing, Ioning it into oblivion. Seriously, 5 or 6 turns in a row. Could not turn to get away.

Game 3 was against Marty. We had a bomber fight for a while. Had to dodge his proximity mine. But my B-wing finally scored a 5 hit attack with his Adv Protons right in Marty's B-Wing. Jousted him into rubble. That may have been the turning point in the game, netting me my only win of the day.

All in all, was a blast.

But Kyle is waiting in the Crow. Waiting for Store Championships. Who will face him??

I really like the rules for this. Might have to try out a few games :D
