search deck running out

By Cabello, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

What happens if the search deck runs out? Do we just reshuffle the nothing, chest, and secret passages or do the heros just not get and more cards.

I can't even imagine how that even happens.

I recall that it has been answered before. The deck does not get reshuffled.

central, one of the thief skills allows you to draw 2 for each search. That would be one way to run the deck out

I think you are playing this part of the game incorrectly. At the end of each quest, during the shopping phase, each hero must sell any unused treasures for their printed gold amount. The treasure cards then get shuffled back into the treasure deck. Unless the heroes aren't doing this, I don't see how it's physically possible to run out of treasure cards.

We were playing armed to the teeth. Our travel cards started us with a goal of 5 search cards before the beginning of part one. We acquired 4 more in part 1, and part 2 had 7 search tokens that grant search cards. That is not counting possible search cards from secret passages which we did not draw any of in part one.

It ended up not mattering since we took her down pretty quick, but we figured that it would not reshuffle.

The treasure hunter still allows you to draw two chose one and put the other on the bottom.

I suppose that makes sense due to the fact that you seem to be successfully drawing two for every one treasure. Guess the best answer is buy another expansion to get some more treasure cards so you don't run out of treasure during a mission. ;)

actually the search deck does not enlarge.

as written on every expension rule you take out the "nothing" card and replace it with the secret passege search card.

if you use multiple expansions you still only use one secret passege search card.

in some thread Steve-O gave some interesting thoughts about how an enlarged searchdeck would disbalance some classes such as the treasure hunter.

Did I? lol.

The only reason not to increase the deck that I can remember right now is to cap how much money the heroes can collect from searching per quest. Once it's gone, it's gone. Increasing the number of search cards will also increase the amount of gold the heroes can milk from the search deck, and using the right skill combos they can ensure they always get the most expensive cards each quest to maximize profit.
