I like to have a main ship. That's not to say the others aren't important but I like to have a main guy to focus on. So I was wondering do you guys think this could work as a main guy:

Tycho 26pts

+ Shield mod 4pts

+ PtL 3pts

He will have a rookie, a red squadron pilot and a gold squadron pilot with the ion turret as a backup.

So do you think this would work as a squad?

Tycho can be a good finisher, A wings are durable and good in space (!). Not much firepower but they can out maneuver almost anything and get those range one shots in. Probably wanna keep him out of you alpha strike though.

I would drop the shield upgrade and add a missile. Tycho is really hard to pin down and can deliver missiles with great effect with PtL.

The extra shield can be mitigated by using Tycho's dial to keep him out of fire arcs or using PtL to focus and evade.

Which missile would you recommend on Tycho ?

I'm thinking homing. In a single turn he could fire a strength four missile with target lock and focus, and they couldn't use evade tokens.

I'd say go for the concussion, with PTL it does great damage and a point cheaper to upgrade other stuff, that being said you might as well take a green squadron, he achieves the same and saves you 7 points!
