Celestial Phenomenon Additional Cards

By Rodent Mastermind, in X-Wing

OK so I'm thinking of expanding this for large scale games, and also creating some extreme cards.

OK, for Large Scale Games I'm considering having a Smaller deck which includes big space objects which have a larger effects for use on larger board, you can deal 1 of these along with standard cards for your larger games. Examples could be things like,

  • 2-3 gravity wells which have a limited range, maybe range 2.
  • Dead Spaces, larger templates, which have no effect on moving, but lower your agility while your in them and limit your max speed if you start your movement in them.
  • Asteroid field, 8-10 Asteroids that have to be placed close together.
  • Laser defense networks
  • Space Stations
  • Huge Asteroids, that act like ships for collisions (IE can't end on top of them) and also block LOS and Shooting entirely.

Also Extreme Cards, a set of additional cards which can be added to your standard set that are much nastier and damaging.

  • Mines that deal face up damage cards.
  • Moving Unstable Asteroids.
  • Gun Emplacements that fire at the closest ship

Any suggestions of objects or rules for objects would be cool

And for those that haven't seen the original project.

X-Wing is a cool game, but I know a few people find the Terrain a bit boring, so we started brainstorming ideas for ways to spice it up, here are 8 new Celestial Phenomenon to mix in with the standard Asteroids.

Also included is a deck of cards which you can print out. At the start of the game deal out 3 cards to get a randomized set of obstacles for your games. It will on average give you 6 obstacles, though you may end up with more or less.
