So I am new to the game, but I am a collector as well. Are there any promo like cards that I have missed out on and if so how could I get them? (I am sure amazon and ebay are locations)

Amazon/ebay may be locations, but they'll cost waaay too much. I've seen promo cards for like $80 a piece.

there are a few alternate art cards about. u get them by participating in game night leagues and such eg. alt art wedge, alt art lando, alt art gold squadron pilot, alt art black squadron pilot, theres also acrylic tokens too.

Yup.. free stuff guys price gouge and sell on ebay.. personally I don't 'collect' I buy stuff to play with.. I have a few alt cards due participation and I resfuse to pay outrageous prices to gain items that are unnecessary for the game.. be careful when you go looking for these items.

It's up to you to decide how much you think they are worth, I won't tell you they are overpriced. They are purely cosmetic. That's a good thing. FFG won't make something pay-to-play or pay-to-win. That's very counter to their core philosophy. But they do make all kinds of fun prizes and participation rewards for various events.

Well I know that the boba fett cards from worlds were selling like crazy on eBay last year. Think the first one went for 120. The lando cards are hard to find any more. Which do you have and which are you looking for?

Boba Fett was a participation reward at World Championships 2013. Lando was at Gen Con National Championships 2013. Since they are very limited, they have a higher "value". Wedge was part of the game night kit, so many more out there.

Like Hexis says, this is not like a collectible game with rare, unique, etc... The collectible items are different art or acrylic versions of standard tokens. That way every player has the same chance to field/build squads. It doesn't matter whether or not you attended and won at a convention halfway across the country or whether or not you're willing to cough up $100+ for a single card.

Some people like that, but others get bummed when only you are allowed to use different dice that cannot miss.

FFG has said while this is a living game (new expansions) it is not considered collectible in that respect.

Don't hate the people selling the stuff, hate the people buying the stuff... They're the ones that are determining the stuff is worth that much. And then hate the gaming stores that buy the kits for $20 with the sole intention of selling the stuff on ebay for quite a bit more than that.

The most expensive card is boba fett, the others sell for a decent price. The y-wings are cheapest followed by the black squadron pilots.

When I see certain cards go for $80+, and even the templates that went for $127+, I don't really have any desire for them
