Hey All,

New guy here. I've been playing GW games for the last several years, but I'm growing tired and frustrated at the expense and the way that company does business. So...I've decided to return to the one great love of my life (shhh. don't tell my wife I said that): Star Wars.

I've been hearing some awesome stuff about X-Wing. Come to think of it, I haven't read a bad review yet. And finally at long last, a comic/gaming shop has opened only a few blocks from my home. It's seems like a sign. So, I'm heading in there tonight to get a tutorial from one of the staff who wants to generate an X-Wing presence in the store. Looking forward to it!

From one new guy to the next: welcome

I too am rebelling against the monolithic Games Workshop Empire to return to my sci-fi roots.

You won't be disappointed, I played WHF for years and bailed on it to play X-Wing. Probably one of the best miniature games out there.

Currently loving Sails of Glory and Wings of Glory as a close second, but X-Wing is the best.

Here's to hoping you serve the Empire, and not the Rebel scum!

I gave up the GW habbit once they started pushing the data slate BS at Cristmas time. I found the Starter box at Target on clearance for $11.98 and bought two of them. Played one learning night with other newbies and loved it!

Boomer, pick up two or more core sets if you plan to play long term. It is the best way to get the dice, ships, etc that you'll need.

If you're moderately interested in anything Star Wars - you'll love it. If you're a hardened Star Wars fan - you'll love it even more!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Well, I played my first game on Friday night and I am hooked. I can't believe how easy it was to pick up and needless to say the minis are just plain cool. I went out and grabbed more miniatures and I'm prepping for the next game!

It's not lookin' good for my GW habit. Plus I'm a SW fan at heart, so it was nice to get back into Star Wars again.
