You are correct, you can change one back.
Correct. In fact, the HLC changes the dice immediately after the initial roll, and any other modifications which occur after that - Mercenary Copilot, Marksmanship, even a reroll via Krassis, Jonus, or a target lock - will stand, even if they're criticals.

I've been looking at flying 2 of these and flying Jonus with them. Wasn't sure if that would be overkill on dice manipulation or not.
