Executive Orders & The Brig

By Sorthlador, in Battlestar Galactica

I’m sure at some point I’ve had the questions answered but after re-reading some rules I wanted to ask again.
If you are in the Brig, only you can activate the location to get out of the brig?

“Brig: The current Player attempts to escape the “Brig” location A 7 difficulty politics/tactics skill check is resolved with the following results
Pass: The current Player may move his character to any space on Galactica
Fail: No Effect”

So my question is can you use executive order on a person in the brig in order for them to activate the location to try and get out of the brig? It seems that the wording current player means that it has to be YOUR turn.

I would allow XO to be used to try to get out of the Brig

Yep, you can do it. In fact, it was crucial in my last game. Both humans were in the brig and I was on the outside keeping them in. Then kept playing Executive Orders on each other and eventually exhausted my hand enough to get out. Oh... but it took quite a while...

Yep, this is legal. In fact, you could use the 2 orders from XO and try to escape twice if the first attempt fails.

Not only that, if the first attempt succeeds, the successful use of the brig action (breaking out) allows you to move to any location on Galactica, and you'll still have an action to spare to use that location.
