A thought I had after reading several hypothesi on a Rebels Aces, does it seem that the Rebel Aces is the Rebel transport? Several new named pilots and upgrades.
Thought about Rebel Aces
I think it's unlikely. If they were going to do a Rebel Aces pack, I think to avoid confusion (like this) they'd just call it the Rebel Aces pack. I don't think they'd include some named pilots in with a completely different expansion and then not call it Rebel Aces, but try to argue that since it includes some 'ace' Rebel pilots that it's basically the same thing.
Basically, I think if the Rebels get an Aces pack to match the Imperials, it'll be pretty blatantly obvious that's what it is.
I sure hope it looks interesting.
No repaints in the transport expansion, though.
With Rogue Squad being the bad boy squad for the Rebels, any repaints are gonna have to be ones you do yourself.. I found, and will be using, some templates for Rogue ship designators.. and will be doing Rogues 1 through 6 or 7.. and just for grins.. Rogue 12.. if I can get some more cheap X-wings I may do a green or blue squad just for fun..
No repaints in the transport expansion, though.
Actually the X-Wing that comes with the transport expansion IS a repaint.
CW, I think it's just a Rogue ship, as all the pilots are rogue pilots.. or most, at least
What do you mean "it's just a Rogue ship?" I'm just saying, it is a repaint from the standard X-Wing found in the starters and X-Wing expansion packs.

Wow. Can't believe I missed that. I'd say this probably is X-wing Aces then.

Any questions?
LOL.. meaning.. it's the same as all that have come out, I wouldn't classify that as a 'repaint' repaint to me means they did a different scheme on it.. that's all.. so.. it's just.. another Rogue.. lol
But it's not "the same as all that have come out." It's Porkins' X-Wing, I believe. Red astromech, check. Red piping around engine intakes, check. Yellow nose cone, check. Not sure if they bothered to change the wing striping to make him Red Six. It doesn't LOOK like it in the picture, but it also says the art is not final. And I assume the one at FFG is a prototype so that may not even be final.
It's not a radically different paint scheme, but it's at least as different as an Interceptor with a bloodstripe...
Ahh.. I see well if they keep that then it will be a repaint.. the small differences will be a nice feature.. I guess I hadn't looked close enough

I'd say it's a good deal more different then the Interceptor's with blood stripes. Based on the picture, you have 3 visual differences, vs the 1 on the Interceptor.
It's fairly minor, but they definitely made it a slight repaint to look like Porkins' X-Wing. Or whoever had the red-headed astromech. Looks like Porkins had an R5 of some kind, although that may have just been too small to detail since they were just doing a straightforward repaint. So that's something, anyway.
It helps that I've seen the actual FFG prototype, nose to nose with the glass in the display case, but I did notice when they first announced it that this one has the yellow nose and red droid, although I'm not sure they ever really called attention to it, so I'm not surprised it got overlooked by a lot of people.

Not really. The blood-striped Interceptor is noticeable on first glance (anyone who's ever seen SW knows that TIEs don't have red on them). This "Porkins" X-wing is not really noticeable unless you have something to compare it to. But after seeing the difference I do like it. But mine will still be different.
I don't know, I noticed the nose cone and red astromech right away, but I'll grant it's not a radical repaint.
Some guys I play with were mentioning that they hoped to see a Y-Wing with co-pilot, or perhaps Elite Pilot Skill. I think that'd be pretty slick.
The new X-wing mini that comes with the Transport looks more like Porkins' X-wing, with Garven's R5 unit.
Wedges droid was also red... but his ship lacked the black stripe..
I'm pretty certain we will get a Rebel Aces pack on its own at some point. I also would bet on it being Awing or Ywing. Or better yet- one of both.
I bet the repaint is also either much cleaner, or has a much dirtier wash. Just another detail that will help differentiate it.
We definitely need more Y, B and A-Wing pilots for sure. I was thinking Jake Farrell as an A-Wing (PS7, maybe something to do with evasion or squad synergy?), Keyan Farlander as a Y-Wing pilot, and... jeeze, it's hard to think of B-Wing pilots.
Edit: Admiral Ackbar flew a B-Wing with a crew slot... interesting. Also, Jesmin Ackbar was pretty alright in a B-Wing, and HATED the X-Wing.

I really want a Y-Wing with co-pilot. Even more than I want a canon mount on my Advanceds!
Although I am not in favor of adding system upgrades to everything like a lot of people seem to want to do lately, a system upgrade title for A-wings seems obvious. It was known for being a reconnaissance craft with sophisticated sensors and equipment, and an upgrade like advanced sensors or fire control system could work well with the A-wing's play style without outright buffing its attack power.
A two-pack A-wing/Y-wing seems ideal (green or prototype paint for the A-wing) as X-wings and B-wings are both sitting quite solidly right now and have lots of options as it is.
Poor Dutch, why does everybody want to replace you? It's okay. They can print a hundred new Y-Wing pilots and I'll still fly with you any day.
