I just got the X-Wing game, a Core Set, one X-Wing expansion and two TIE Fighter expansions. I can't wait to pick up the TIE Advanced, Y-Wing, and Falcon. My friend and I played two games on Friday night.
Throughout our two 65 point battles, my opponent played Imperials while I played Rebels. He took all named TIE pilots both games, while I found that rolling Wedge with a wingman, who was either Luke or a RSP decked out with proton torpedoes and an astromech, was very effective. I learned a lot of basic tactics and rules of thumb playing. He won the first game, and I won the second... But that's not the point of the post.
The point is, both battles we listened to a New Hope soundtrack, which has a very good climax for the endgame with the Battle of Yavin. Next time we play we will definitely play more Star Wars music for the added effect. Is there anyone else here who regularly does this?
P.S.
My opponent and I need to run a TIE-breaker round... Pun COMPLETELY intended!
