Sweet! I am going to try and make it up for this one.

One month to go bump ... you are practicing your squads, right? :>)

Sounds like we'll have a good turnout.

Does one need to sign up in advance for this or is it just a show up and play event?

You may just show up and play.

What hotels motels are near your store? Also could you give addresses to the motels/hotels?

What hotels motels are near your store? Also could you give addresses to the motels/hotels?

There are a lot. A Holiday Inn Express, Microtel, Ramada, Econo Lodge, Hampton Inn and several others. You're best bet is probably just to Google "Janesville, WI hotels" and figure out what works best for your budget. Most of the local hotels are approximately 5 minutes or so from Kryptonite on Plainfield. Just look for the locations on the north end of town.

Curious, where are you travelling from to go to a tournament in Janesville that you will be getting a hotel/motel?

He and others may be coming from Omaha. They may stop in Des Moines to pick me up as well. Plans are tentative as of now, but this could shape up to be an epic tourney. :)

Wow! That would be epic! There is no Milwaukee GSC that day either so we could draw from that market as well.

"Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen." (cackling laughter)

Janesville is only 60,000 people, so anything in town is within 15 minutes of the store. GalacticFunk noted the ones on the North/Northeast side which are closest. But let us know if you need anything more specific.

Felt compelled to join us after the discussion of the Nebraska crew on SWMiniverse? If so, we'll have you guys as guests all the time. :>)

That would be great to have NE and IA players join us. SWM Battle of Hoth at the hotel afterwards? :>)

T-12days and counting ...

Shall we plan on seeing the NE and IA players? Anything you need from us or that we can help you with?

I think I'm out for this one. I'm already doing 3 this month. Wife may shoot me for being gone another saturday. Good luck to all, and have fun! :)

If I can swing it, I am gonna try to make this one. Been wanting to do a tourney and this is relatively close., I'm in Cherry Valley just south of Rockford, so only about an hour away.. if that..

edited first post to reflect:

We’ll do four 75 or five 60 minute rounds; depends on attendance. Results of Swiss will determine standings.

We want to finish around the store closing time of ~6pm.

Still not sure if I will make it. If I can talk my son into going that would up the chances. We will see.

FYI -- The store received 16 of the Imperial Aces packs in case you are looking for one.

Or maybe we'll add one to the prize list. :>)

Lol. I have 19. won't need 1. Well 16 now.

Thanks for hosting a great event. It was good to see so many and to meet a lot of nice players!

19 players from a 185 mile radius.

14 Rebel and 5 Imperial. 3 Rebel and 1 Imperial in the top 4 reflected that same ratio.

Final standings:

  1. Ryan 4-0 and 20 points
  2. Shawn 3-1 and 15 points
  3. Siri 3-1 and 15 points
  4. Chilo 3-1 and 15 points
  5. Jake 3-1
  6. Steve S 3-1
  7. Tristan 2-2
  8. Greg 2-2
  9. Aaron 2-2
  10. Mark F 2-2
  11. Troy 2-2
  12. Steve L 2-2
  13. Dan 2-2
  14. Owen 2-2
  15. Mark V 1-3
  16. Ted 1-3
  17. Alex 1-3
  18. Tim 0-4
  19. Tom L 0-4

Jake and Tristan were voted as Sportsmanship by their fellow players so they each received a ship expansion courtesy of Kryptonite Kollectibles.

A nod to Tristan for having to face four of the top 6 players. He defeated 6th and 2nd and then lost to 1st and 5th in what looks to be the toughest schedule of the day (I'm not trying to slight those who finished higher by laying a path of destruction in their path).

A nod to Troy whose day started at 2am, included work before play, and covered about 700 miles.

A nod to Siri who rolled 4 crits on 4 dice to finish the last game.

Thanks to all who came out. It was great meeting new people, seeing familiar faces, matching forum names with live people, and seeing much great gameplay throughout the day with some epic moments.

Huge thanks to Tim for sitting out the tournament to be the TO! The event went really smoothly and was a lot of fun.

Special thanks to Kryptonite Kollectibles who kicked in extra prize support!

It was great to meet a bunch of new people and spend time playing and talking X-Wing all day.

I'm not sure how to post pictures here. However, you can check them out on our Star Wars Miniverse Facebook page:

And while you're there, why not give us a like!!

Thanks to Tim and Kryptonite for running a fun and smooth event. I had a blast even though I only went 2-2. I expected to do much better. I wish you could have played Tim. Everyone I faced was a blast to play against.

I also had a good time, despite going 0-4 :(

It's a fun game to play, even if you lose.

haha.. we all take our lumps.. glad you guys had a great time.. the pictures were great as well.. glad to see so many turn out..
