Newbie Question: All these games are played in person on a table?

By chipset35, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Is ther play by video conference or anything like that?

You've got a few options:

  • Face to face gaming (tabletop or just sitting around in a pub)
  • Fantasy grounds or Maptool virtual tabletop
  • ROll20 + google hangout + the dice roller:
  • Play by post/thread
  • Play by email (or yahoogroup or googlegroup)
  • Combination of face to face and the occasional player who cannot make it who links in by google hangout (and uses the dice roller)
  • Gaming convention play
  • Demo play at a game store

Lot of good groups around doing this sort of thing mate. Where are you based?

WOW! I had no idea these games were being played like that!

But are these for fantasy Flight Games?

I am on the East Coast USA.

Every tabletop game can be played using the methods I describe above. Pathfinder, D&D, Cthulhu, Fate, Smallvillie, Gumshoe, Shadows of Esteren, you name it.

How r you playing via the forums?

wow I am tempted to join in

Most of these games are being played in person on a table.

As opposed to in a person on a table (that's probably Milton Bradley's "Operation").

Mwah ha ha ha!
