Force power clarification..

By Kager, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hello,

For the force power "Move" tree for example, do i have to spend 2 pips to move an object medium distance? Or do i just have to spend 1 pip? I ask because on the first part of the tree, it says "spend 1 pip to move an object up to max distance of Short range". The next level of the tree states "Spend 1pip to increase powers range bands equal to range upgrades purchased".

Thanks all

You have to spend 2 pips/Force Points. The first is to activate the basic effect (moving an object of no greater than Silhouette 0 to a maximum range of Short) and then the second to activate the Range Upgrade to change the maximum range to Medium.

However, you only have to spend 1 pip/Force Point to activate multiple upgrades of the same type. So if you've purchased 2 Range Upgrades, then you only need to spend one Force Point to activate both of them, on top of the 1 Force Point you need to spend to activate the base power.

Thanks! How about to improve the silhouette size and range? Would it be 3 pips ( 1 tpip to activate power, 1 pip to improve range and 1 more to improve silhouette size)?

Yep. The magnitude, strength, and range upgrades all say "equal to upgrades purchased" so one points grants the effect of all upgrades purchased in that upgrade.

You're welcome.

And yes, it'd be three pips/Force Points to activate all three.

Understood. Thanks for the help all!
