I'm looking for information on this droid. I'm putting together a campaign character and my concept is along the lines of Jack from Gears of War. I'm thinking of playing a utility bot (Technician/Slicer) that floats around, opening doors, hacking systems, and doing mechanical repairs.

So, I'm looking for a Star Wars equivalent, or something that could be modified to work in that capacity and feasibly fit in the SW universe. I would rather be a floater than a bipedal droid or an R2 unit. I am looking at two possibilities.

1.) A modified Viper Probe droid similar to the one Han and Chewie encountered on Hoth. It's a bit bigger than I would like, but I can work around that.

2.) Whatever this probe droid is. This is where I need help. Skip to 1:10:27 and tell me anything you can about this droid. If you don't want to hit the link, it is the droid that meets Darth Maul on Tatooine and gives him a message in The Phantom Menace.

I was trying to find a droid in the SW universe that worked outright with a minor modification here or there, which it looks like I have plenty of workable ideas here. If not, I'm sure our GM would not mind a home creation.
